So I had a rather odd username, martin1234php, sign up. I checked the profile, and naturally not a single one of the profile fields is filled in correctly, and it's a gmail account.

So I Googled it, and there's ten pages of his username on forums all over the place.

59.92.141.36 is the IP he signed up to my site with. Either a really bad spammer, or a bot looking to harvest email addresses.

Just a heads up.

Edit: Also, I'm assuming that "Asia Pacific Network Information Centre" is an overseas proxy, because I'd say a good 50% of the nonsense accounts that sign up on my site resolve to that IP if I throw it at the lookup tool at www.arin.net.

"Asia Pacific Network Information Centre" is to asia(and the surrounding region) as arin is to the US. It's telling you to use apnic to get more information on that ip.

He could just be an average user... I didn't see any posts with spam of the results I looked over. I'm sure your name will show on forums for 10 pages of google search results. :P

Yeah, I thought it was odd when I seen php at the end of the name. For a split second I though maybe the reg script was borked and then said to myself, it's a spambot or either a harvest bot for people to get around registering.

its an proxy id and its from india one of my friend have similar ip it alaway changes bcause they have dynamic ip.

just got the same guy on my 3.6.3 site. w/image verification. banned immediately.

It was on two of my biggest forums. Banned it since it was obvious what it was.

Just an additional heads-up, I have come to a point where I instantly ban any account that has the word "Man" for its biography.

Bunch of dirty spammers.

Is there a way to automate that? Because you're absolutely right - I just banned two this morning that had "Man" for the biography.

I'm at the point where I'm going to block anything from a .info or .tv email address as well.
