Info:
Easy to use/manage banner rotator which works with both, image and flash banners.


Features:
-one-step installation
-specify display duration/dimensions of individual image/swf
-set position on page and margins in ACP
-continuous and random play modes
-exclude usergroups from viewing banners
-automatically add banners to forum header (can be turned on/off)
-easy manage banners
-click counter


Installation:
1. Import XML file (as product): AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]
2. OPTIONAL: Open desired template and add "$cyb_flashimagebanners" where you wish banners to appear
3. OPTIONAL (if link to manage banners page is not shown in Quick links menu):
Open navbar template and add "$insert_cybfibr" after "$vbphrase[miscellaneous]</td></tr>"


To set options:
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Cyb - Flash-Image Banner Rotator

I get an script error in Internet Explorer which takes my site down when accessing the main directory. Locks it up tight!!!

Only first time images are loaded and then cached for later use.
Banners are usually small files, few kilobytes, so I see no how this can be problem.

I see no any reason that this hack makes such problems.
Tested on clean board with Firefox and IE. No problems in any of these browsers.

Ok I figured out what was causing internet explorer to lock up. I have it working now and I still see some errors with the script.

I run my board in the root directory. I also run vb-advance. When you view the banners in the forums the hyper link shows http://www.sitecom/http://www.site.com/banners/test.jpg. On the vb-advance index pages the links show just fine. Also I tried to hard code the images into the code and it shows this and the path http://www.sitecom/http://www.site.com/banners/test.jpg. It also give the dreaded RED X on all pages. Not sure how to get the path to work correctly.

I can check it if you wish. Create temp admin account and give me access to Options/Plugins/Templates.

Ok I tracked down the problem. I am running vbseo and that is causing the links to not look correct. Is there a work around for this? So it can work correctly while having vbseo installed?

Hey there, when i have that enabled, my WYSIWYG goes wrong

But when its on.. (pressed in)

When i highlight text and then click quote.. instead of wrapping the quote tags AROUND the text it just replaces the highlighted text with the tags

Do you get what i mean?

When its highlighted and the quote button is pressed it should look like this:

[ QUOTE]Text[ /QUOTE]

Instead it just shows

[ QUOTE][ /QUOTE]

Its the same for everything..



I went down the list of my mods and disabled them.. it was yours causing the problem, which i find strange for a banner system

Why does the "Manage Banners" link direct me to the smilies page?

BUT it goes to a full page that shows and defines all the smilies that I have installed on the forum.

Am I missing something? And what is a SuperAdmin? I am the admin of this website, and there is no one above me. Is this why I cannot see the Manage Banners link in the Quick Links drop down menu?

Check your includes/config.php file. There you can set SuperAdmins.

Same here. In firefox 2.0 and IE 6.

I really wanted to use this because it allowed for links. Guess I'll go back to the one that does not. :(

Do you have it set to off? That's what mine did when I turned it off after it locked up my site.

Hello. I have installed this mod and things work fine in the banner management panel, but when I try to insert in any of my templates to have it show somewhere else, it doesn't do anything. I am trying to get the banners to display between the navbar and the start of the categories, not in the header.

I have tried to insert it like this on the FORUMHOME & FORUMDISPLAY templates...

Nothing happens. Is that incorrect? I am new to this.

installed this but cant get my swf file to show, i placed the banner under my navbar. in IE it shows a blank box and causes the screen to flicker as if refreshing, i hosted the swf file with image shack, the link works fine but image not showing.

in Firefox i get a blank box with no image and it doesnt allow me to click it as a link.

i havent tried a gif or jpg file yet so may be an issue with my dimensions for the swf. is there any way of correcting the other issues though?

In Cybers signature it says this: *Note: all of these hacks works with 3.5.x and 3.6.x versions of vBulletin.

Does this mean all of these hacks work in 3.5.x including this one?

Yes, there's a version for 3.5.x available, check Cybernetec's profile for the link.

You don't need to use hacks from 3.5 section. Use latest versions from 3.6. It will work on 3.5 with no problems.

Files must not be stored on your server ? so I do not upload the swf file to my server? Where do I upload it to?

Example given in the Manager below:

do I now have a folder named cyb_banners that I upload to? Or do I input the full "www.blahblah.com/the.swf " path I have uploaded the file to?

Do I leave _NEW.bnr alone or change it to reflect something else?

Site you are advertising may have banner on their own server. You can link it from there. When they change banner on their server new one will be automatically shown on your forums. This can be useful for trusted people so you can avoid uploading of updated banners.

Otherwise upload banners to some folder on your server, for example "cyb_banners" and use code:
