MPDev's Graffiti Wall for vB3.6

This is a repost of the 3.5 module; works the same with vB3.6.

The Graffiti Wall is a simple script where people can "paint" text onto a brick wall. You can see an example of the vB3 integration on ExtremeFitness.Com and ViperAlley.Com (more of a chalk board).

I also use an img src with half sized dimensions to preview the wall on my Summary page which can be seen on ViperAlley.Com; this could also be added to your portal pages for greater exposure.

Features
. Fully integrated with vB3 for styles/users
. Admin/Mods can "wipe board"
. Optional logging of paints to log file

This is a very simple mod to install; there is one self contained .php script, a few fonts and a bricks.jpg file to upload.

Requirements
. Your server must have GD2 support (GD1 support may work, but not tested) for PNG files including TTF support.

This is the updated mod from the 3.0x version located here.

Be kind and click INSTALL if you use this mod. :)

I have installed but I have issues....

I get to see the wall, but it has "ViperAlley.com" and "Wall Donated by P. Floyd" and "Packetjunkie was here"..

However, I cannot add any of my own messages. I enter them into the box and click "Paint It" and nothing happens. The Screen refreshes, but nothing shows up.

I have changed my CHMOD to make it so it can be written to..

Also, where was I suppose to install the fonts on my server? I am a relative Newb in this area..

Please help me out!

i think the font folder should be on the forum folder (blablabla.com/forum/)

Please refer to the Requirements in the first post; if you are getting functions not found or other similiar issues; then your server isn't setup with the required modules to support this mod.

1) You must have GD2 with PNG support; you must have TTF support.
2) You must give the web server write permissions to the png file so it can be overwritten.

If you don't, this mod won't work.

I might be missing something here...but I'm sure I have the correct settings on my server to allow this hack to function however, I get this:

GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
FreeType Support enabled
FreeType Linkage with freetype
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
JPG Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled

So, I'm not sure what's going on. Hopefully someone smarter than me will assist. ;)

Very diggable. My users love it. Works great in 3.63
Is there any way to allow them to choose which one of the available fonts to use?

Excellent mod, but is there any way of getting it to post images instead of text? I've tried html and BBCode, but neither work.

The wall is cool but one can make it cooler. I didn't like the size of the board so I resized vertical instead. I also changed to text to 100 words. I tried going more but it kept timing out. I would have made it longer but I will see how it works at 3000px. Here is what it looks like if one wants to take a look.

I have some problems with russian symbols at this wall. Some fonts are not displayed correctly.
What modifications should I do :confused:

You would need to use a TTF font that supports your charset.

TTF is a part of PHP; so you would need to update your PHP installation.

Try changing $bbuserinfo['username'] to $vbulletin->userinfo['username']

I have 1 questions though: Sometimes the texts revert to just a black outline. Anyway to correct this?
