Video software
Does anyone know of a video software that i can upload to my site that will allow me to host my user's video's on my site.......Alot of my member's would prefer not to have to use, google, youtube, etc......
So i would like to see if there is something available, even if it has a cost, that i can upload and set up with in vbulletin to host video's.......thanks, hotwheels |
Links and Downloads Manager by AndrewD can do anything, greatest hack ever.

I've been looking for something like this... Awesome!

Interesting that this post is here; the other day I decided I wanted a more robust multimedia application - one complete with multiple thumbnails, ratings, tagging, etc. I've only been working on it a short time; but here it is:
http://www.viperalley.com/videos/ You have to be registered to download videos; but you can see the direction I'm going. Right now you can download and rate videos you've downloaded; uploading, tagging and searching are on tap next. |
Do I suspect another product from you, MPDev? If so, I'm interested. :)
|
We shall see; I have alot of ideas for this, but also some hurdles (like how to handle really large video files). I'd like to add the ffmpeg support for auto thumbnailing, but after an hour of trying to get it installed, I gave up.
|
Well, I haven't spoken to you for a while but I like this idea of yours. Please keep us updated on your progress. :)

Yup, that's what i would be looking for............I did get the above program to work, just don't seem to have alot of control of what can be and can't be uploaded.....

<a href="http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flash/articles/video_guide.html" target="_blank">Flash</a> is worth a look if you're considering this.
|
What I don't like about the flash converters is the inability to retain the high quality that you get from an original - also I don't care for arbitrary resizing of my videos (like Google video).
