Spelling mistake on main profile view: "username" is talking about hiself

Good to know that my module's bugs are spelling mistakes. I used to seen in other modules: Crashes, Misworkings etc.

lol, yeah, except I added a profile and I can view it but for some reason from the main mates page, it says no new profiles.

A few spelling and grammar errors, but that's not a real problem. Excellent work, like it a lot.

I think this is a great add-on and I would expect a lot of installs!

I don't know how this site works but when I added this module I gave the link of my first thread (for 3.5.5) and I thought that all of you will come for discussion there:cheeky: In anycase:

1.- Should be a commercial version at a low price (I believe that is low) of 49 Euros. In summary the main differencies should be:
a) at Admin area:
- Can restrict use of new Nickname
- Can restrict use of new Email
- Switch States On/Off
- Switch Countries On/Off
- Switch Search by Zipcode On/Off
- Switch Multiple profiles On/Off (Now a member can most more than 1 profile)
- Switch Auto approval On/Off (Now all profiles are auto approved)
- Can Approve/Reject profiles
- Switch Attachments On/Off (Now messages can contain only text)
- Can set featured profiles
- Can rebuild counters
b) at User's interface:
- Can Search Profiles (Gender, Age (from-to), State, Country, with photo)
- Can Search Member (by nickname)
- Can Search by distance
- Featured Profiles
- Who has viewed me

Where do I populate the profile field dropdowns that are missing options? in the DB or the PHP file?

All values of drop lists are locating at vbmates/includes/ You can add/edit/remove anything you like. Even to change topic but in this case dont forget to change the title too to reflect to your new topic.

Also, this looks like a great addon to a blog dating site I have. I think it mentioned you do not need Vbulletin to utilize this. Is that true? Are there any features lost in that case?

Where I wrote that it dosen't needs vBulletin??? If I did, sorry it was my mistake. Sure it needs vb install. It's a module of it. What I wrote is that I don't touch vB's tables but use my own to avoid misworkings in future upgrades of vB. I'm just getting data from it. The only that I did is to add a usergroup.

As for the differencies between vbMates and vbPals:

1.- Has 6 categories (SM, SF, C, G, L, T) instead of 2 (M/F)... (Sorry but I can't write the full category's name. Hope that you can understand).

2.- Uses different questions targeting to an Adult community

3.- Has double profile's details in the same form for couples.

I'm going to bring back an old domain I've been sitting on just for this :)

However, it is too complex for my need. You have done a fine job.... but too much of a fine job :D

My forum is a very localised one and I do actually need some system like this.... but I need somehow to take the geographic functionality out of the equasion because location will not matter..... everyone has the same location (my small town)

I would dearly love to use this, but I fear I will not be able to.

If you've a bit experiance for modifying templates it's very easy to remove states and countries. You need to modify the templates that add, edit and view profile.
Alternative you can change the contains to something else. eg change states to cities or anything you like. In this case dont forget to change the title's phrase too.

yeah I'm not going to install it yet as I haven't launched my site publically yet, but this is kick a$$. I'd definitely pay for something like this if it had all the features.

I don't know you guys but I think this mod should be HACK OF THE YEAR! and What I like the most, correct me if I'm wrong, that this hack was develop by a lady, this is one of the finest work I have ever seen listed on vbulletin.org.

Thanks a lot for your warm words my dear friend. Yes, I'm pround of my work. Let's say woman's selfish. Mostly I'm pround because I'm not professional in the meaning that I'm self studying. Being first of a 5 kids family I didnt had the luxury for higher education as I've to work since my 16th's to help my parents. But I love to read and test what I'm reading. That's all. Now on my 50th, I'm much better :-))

Here is another screenshoot. As you can see a "Featured Member" not only appear in the main page randomly but in all listings he has different backgroud to catch the eye.
