I have been waiting on this!!!! And I am about to Download RIGHT NOW!!!!

I installed this hack on my test server and there were some errors.. but i went ahead and installed it on my main site... and it worked FLAWLESSLY!!! Excellent work.......!!!

Be noticed that if should be interest for my module I'll extend it a lot. I build that version for my needs (in a private club), where I wouldn't like to have more feautures. This dosen't mean that I can't add feautures.

Permissions don't seem to work. I forgot to set them, yet I was able to post a profile.

??? The instructions say:
By default none usergroup has permissions to use vbMates, so you need to give permissions to any group.

Maybe there is confusion with something else? Have you changed Admin's permissions too? I just changed permissions to No and back to Yes, and everything was working.

The current versions sends the email to user's email address. I did it this way because if I was using the internal mailing (which was much easier), the user should turn email accept on, something that many people dont like.

Email was turned on. Never came. By pagination I mean if you have 50 to 1000 male signing up, displaying them all in one page could give you a pretty long page.

If I remember well I added pagination every 15 profiles. Not?? I'll check it in a few hours after my lunch:knockedout:

Posted this yesterday but the thread was taken down. I had more questions and suggestions but its way to early in the morning for me to think clearly.

Question.

* My site is state specific, can It be changed to search by counties, instead of having all states listed?

* Wok with vb 3.6.x ?

Suggestion

* Work with vbplaza so people have to "pay" to post a profile/view/etc.

From what I understood from the previous listing for this item, this is the "LITE" version of the modification. Has that status changed? The reason I ask is because this modification could be done with custom profile fields and some new templates. I am not knocking the modification. Many users don't have the ability (yet) to create something like this. I am curious to what the "full" version would include if this is still just the lite version. (I am guessing the other thread was killed for advertising the paid product, so i am not asking for links or anything. I just want details.)

When I'll find someone to upgrade my PHP and MySQL in my server then I'll be able to test it in 3.6.x :rolleyes: I installed 3.5.5 in my server just because these limitations of my server. But I dont think that it will have problem to work there. I use only a few functions from vb's API and I dont think that they've changed.

Could you please be more specific? Even if I'm in Dating business for more than 10 years and have bought many scripts, I can't say that I know all. The sure is that i'm open in good ideas:rolleyes:

All the drop lists are located in the directory /vbmates/includes for easy modifications. As for the paid version should be $49 the normal one and $79 the Adult version.
As for what you asked about fields, just came in my mind to put switches on every field so anybody can use only the fields that he/she wants. Cool?:cool:

For the moment Pro version has the following extra features:

Search Engine
Admin will approve or reject profiles
More permission types instead of one for all actions
Featured profiles by gender (eg in Female's list will appera Males and vs)
Admin can choose Internal Mailing (not vB's) or external
In the external mailing user will be able to add attachment and not only text
Many other things that you'll suggest:-)

As for the Greek translation, sure I'll done it, but for the moment I'm working in English.

The funny is that I had post a long reply for you but they deleted it. Any way, if you're a bit familiar with templates you can remove the country list but if you can wait for around a week the new version will contain switchers to all fields so you can decide which field will be active and which not.

So, sorry !! I just read it more carefully and I got my mistake. I've read counties as countries. Sure you can change the list vbmates_states.inc.php which is on /vbmates/includes/ directory and add anything you want. Don't forget to change the phrase: <phrase name="vbmates_state"><![CDATA[State]]></phrase> to <phrase name="vbmates_state"><![CDATA[County]]></phrase>.

Also my suggestion is to change Countries to States. Sure should be members coming from your State but living to another one. It's the same way (change the file: vbmates_countries.inc.php and then change the phrase). I tried to make my module as more friendly as it can be.

Many other Dating scripts also allow to a member to post more than one profiles. It comes from the fact that there were couples who wanted to have somehow a double profile.
In next version I'm planing to put it a switch so Admin can decide if will allow multiple profiles or not.

You made my day:rolleyes: So, having 80% of it's features, mean that I must sell my module at $280 ($349*80%) :) In any case, I know this script as I'm using it in one of my sites (http://www.GreekCouples.com). It's very good script (maybe the one that I didn't wasted my money), but believe me it's no so good for Dating. It's a community script.

yeah.... the hack works great.... i created a test profile and went to delete... got an error.....still deleted... but the dbase error will confuse my members who are not very saavy...
