finding a snippet of code in the templates...HOW???

How do I find it without reading every single line there? There used to be a function in the template itself to find/ find and replace...not anymore. I know you can find and replace, but I want to find a snippet of code in one particular style template and cant. It is drivin me NUTS!!!

Any help?

AdminCP -> Style Manager -> Search in Templates -> Select Style in Dropdown

If you know which template you want to search in, then just edit the template; there's a Search function below the code printout.

I hate to be argumentative, but I am in the navbar template and there is no way to search for code there. At least not readily visible.

I see - Increas size, decrease size, preview, copy, view quick reference.

Nowhere to find code. please help me see it if i am looking in the wrong place.

See attached.

If you can't see the Search bar, then you're most likely using an outdated browser.

Is yours 3.6? See my attachment, cause it isnt there on mine.

It's standard in 3.0, 3.5 & 3.6.

please tell me how to find it in there. See my screenshot.

Like I said, it's probably your browser. I take it you're using a Mac -- Safari? Try a different browser and see if you can see it then.

Paul M 08-26-2006 02:45 AM

TBH, I don't know of any way to remove it, I use IE and Firefox and it's just always there.

guatdad 08-26-2006 02:45 AM

I am usng Safari...Ill try it in Firefox.

it is there in Firefox...weird!

but NOW what is weird is that the snippet Im looking (<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="calendar.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td>) for isnt in the code. Im using a custom template and am wondering if it got deleted...oh well. I guess I wont have an arcade on my forum. LOL.

Than ks for the help guys!

Try searching for something in that string - not the whole thing.

guatdad 08-26-2006 02:59 AM

I did. Even down to the word Calendar...nothing.

Find FAQ and put the arcade link after that instead. The code is the same as the calendar one but all instances of calendar are faq
