Blaze

This style was developed by my firm Epic Designz as a promotional tool for a new site called YourIndex. This style is free to be used on any forum provided that you retain the small promotional message in the footer (We made it as unobtrusive as possible.) The package includes the full set of PSD's, so you can make changes to suit your board or apply the same layout to non-vBulletin portions of your site. If there are any problems with the style, please report them to me in this thread, so I can get them resolved as quickly as possible.

This is an amazing theme to be free. I'm glad I downloaded it before you change your mind and charge for it:)

I have absolutely no plans to ever charge for any of my themes on vBulletin.org - I enjoy giving back to the community that helped me out so much when I first started working with vBulletin about two years ago.

Do you know of a way to make the legacy postbit a fixed size rather than shifting sized for each member? Other than that, I have it working great on my site. Thanks!!

Jay... 08-23-2006 03:59 PM

now that is one very nice theme, just wondering, how do i change the width of the column on the left?

lindab2 08-23-2006 05:53 PM

Nice! Thanks a lot :)

You could always hard code the width of the left column in the postbit_legacy template.

That would be in the FORUMHOME template, and it's currently set to 250 I think (Just do a text search for width="250", and you'll find the spot.)

cygy2k 08-23-2006 10:43 PM

I found out what the problem is with the legacy postbit, it is tied to a hard coded width and works fine in Firefox but in IE it is completely crappy looking. I'm using the stock template with no changes and it isn't working well.

KevNJ 08-23-2006 11:39 PM

The easiest way would be to revert the FORUMHOME template and then reapply the category spacing template mod to it from this thread.

Thank you, if you pm me a paypal address i would like to chuck a little something your way in the next week for this handsome design.

Hi there,

Fantastic style! On your included layout.psd, there's a "Latest Threads" column on the right, how can I achieve that also on my vB?

The easiest way would be to modify the output of one of the Top X stats mods - I did that before on a forum that I used to run.

ChrisTech 08-25-2006 12:27 AM

Looks nice, but ran into too many issues attempting to add IBPro arcade & VB Plaza links to the navbar, gave up and reverted. Bah.

The navbar is identical to the stock vBulletin navbar - I literally just copied and pasted the table that contained it from the navbar template into the header template.

I was just going to mention that :)

Attempting to setup the IBPro Arcade into that template, and cannot find various things in the templates.

In postbit_legacy template cannot find
Code:

<if condition="$post['joindate']"><div>$vbphrase[join_date]: $post[joindate]</div></if>
In navbar template cannot find
Code:

<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="calendar.php$session[sessionurl_q]">$vbphrase[calendar]</a></td>

Andrew 08-25-2006 03:14 PM

The first bit is different because of the background and borders I place around postbit items - Just do a text search for "$vbphrase[join_date]", and you shouldn't have a problem finding it.

As for the navbar item, I moved the navbar into the header template, so if you look in there instead, you should easily find the spot to add your link.

Installed! Great Style, exactly what I was looking for, suits my logo perfectly!

Senn 08-27-2006 08:41 AM

I installed it. Created some new forums and its broken:

Looks fine to me - Did you fix the problem you were having already ?

Thats the main problem, the navbar was in the header, cleared that up, added what was needed. Works fine now, juts have to edit the color codes for the arcade and plaza.

FunkyK 08-30-2006 09:26 PM

Nice skin!
I have a question though. When I create a new forum it does not appear in the right frame (on the home page) but rather takes space across the entire width. It also seems to be missing the borded around it.
I'd like to know if anybody else has that problem... ?

Thanks,

Funky Koval

Andrew 08-30-2006 10:19 PM

You need to create categories and add forums into the categories - Adding top level forums won't work with the category spacing mod.

hotcomputers 08-30-2006 10:23 PM

please can you tell me how to keep the left side of the website also in forums?

What template should i change?
i am new with vbulletin
i have clicked installed

thanks

Andrew 08-31-2006 12:11 AM

You would need to move the container table that I have around the forum list in the FORUMHOME template into the header and footer templatest. That would put the left column on all of the pages.

VBUsers 09-01-2006 07:37 AM

nevermind i see it now. thanks and great template!

edit: how is it that the adsense as a post doesnt work? when i add it it comes after every post instead of just the first in every thread. can you help with that?

You need to use a conditional to show it after just the first post, but I can't remember what the conditional for that is. I know it's came up on here a lot, so you might try searching for "adsense conditional" to see what comes up.

jcodemasters 09-01-2006 04:34 PM

chrisife 09-02-2006 09:48 AM

You Didn't include hoe to install this skin? How do I? I am completely a newbie here

Andrew 09-02-2006 04:19 PM

I just added a link to installation instructions that I wrote a while back for vBulletin 3.0 - Not much has changed in the AdminCP since then, so they should still work the same.

I just followed your instructions, and most of the stuff works, however, there's still a lot of blue in the header, forum view, etc.

How would I get rid of that?

Thanks.

(also a noob to vB)

Andrew 09-03-2006 03:02 AM

Did you install the .XML file for the style ?
