Sub-Forum question

I was wondering how to set the sub forums so they appear as small text links under the forum name (such as on this board) instead of being full size but indented forums (such as on my board)

Also, if you make someone a member of all groups (including administrators), can they moderate every forum, or do you need to make them a moderator for every forum?

If they can then moderate every forum, what is the point of naming specific users as moderators to specific forums? (in other words, I want several people to be able to moderate ALL forums).

Thanks, hope that made sense!

I'm not sure how you set your Subforums like that. You didn't edit any of the templates dealing with subforums did you?

Super Moderators have the permission to moderate all forums.

I created a new forum, and then set the appropriate parent forum. Is there another way to create sub forums?

No, that's right. I was wondering if you edited the actual template that controls the display of the subforums.

In the admin control panel

go to Vbulletin Options

in the drop down menu select forum listings display options

all the changes are made there

I don't see anything here about sub forums?

Try adjusting Forum Depth.

I think I know what the problem is. You can do it either way. You can have a category that is a parent forum that does not act as a forum, then you can have a subcategory assigned as a child forum to a subforum that does act as a forum.

Hm... I don't think I'm making any sense. Here is an example using your forum:

You currently have "other buckeye sports" under the buckeye sports category, but you could make it a child forum to "buckeye football" (just make sure that buckeye football "acts as forum") and it would appear as a subforum link under an active forum like it does in the first forum you linked to.

Does that make any sense?

Oh, I think you're right. That'd make sense.

1 Attachment(s)
make parent forum depth 2

the child forum 1

Thanks guys, you rock!

I have fixed it. You make depth of forums x, and depth of sub forums x+1. You can play around with x depending how many generations of sub forums you have/want to display.
