Great Hack, but one thing. Is it possible to make it, that the hack shows me also only new threads ?

I desperatly need to change the font color of the links in the Navbar.
I tried the tricks you gave me for the 3.5.4 version, in Phrases. My changes won't stick. |
Awesome, just what I like. Thanks for making this public.
edit: I just noticed that the numbers are gone when viewing the forum from my vbadvanced index. Got any ideas on how to fix that? |
I like the idea of this hack, but it doesn't work with the template I've got installed. The navbar has been moved into the header template, which is fair enough, I was able to find the required code and change it, but upon doing it, the table got all screwed up (and the text was a diffrent colour).
|
any chance of putting this into the member block rather then the navbar; similar to PaulM's hack here?

well, they're way different - guess i'll write my own merging both of yours.

Hi, i'm trying to install this on vB 3.6.1 and when i try to import it as a product it says that it is a plugin and that i should use the plugin manager to upload. So i went to Upload/download plugin, uploaded it, and nothing happened.
|
Thank you! It is a long-awaiting hack for me!
One question - I have a big space between the "New Posts In" item and the next item. How could I reduce this space? Thank you. |
I'd like to know how to prevent the font from being another color in the NavBar too. I need it to change it to how the rest of my links in the NavBar look. Thank you!

If I click in the vBulletin-Settings > Cyb product > on the three phrase links there comes an error: "No phrases found"
If I'm searching via "Browse Phrases" there they are. I don't edit anything before this. |
v1.9 - Sep 28. 2006.
-Added Product Version Checking -Fixed links to phrases in ACP (used to easily customize phrases) -Added option to change text color -Fixed bug (unneded extra space after "Advanced New Posts Search Menu" in navbar menu) -Hack name changed to "Cyb - Advanced 'New Posts'" NOTE: Before upgrading save somewhere content of "Menu Items" field to restore it after upgrade. It will be removed during upgrade process. |
Nice Hack.
1 Question. Is there a way to combine the two links in the navbar into just one? Thanks |
nathanrich,
It was one link previously but it was boring to expand menu every time when you want to search new posts. Believe me, you don't need this. |

Nice hack, but I have one problem. I am using VBAvanced, and it will not display the number of posts when viewing the CMPS main page. Your help would be appreciated. :D
|
I do like the hack, but as soon as I enable it my server CPU starts to go crazy!
Therfore I had ti disable it. |
nice hack installed of course :D but how can i make it for showing the new threads?????

For some reason, I can have read all threads (thus there being no new posts), and the "Advanced New Posts" link will tell me I have x-amount new posts in y-amount new threads. I have the problem in both FF2 and IE7. |

Thnks a lot for your hack :)
|
great mod as usual cyb :)
anyway to put this in the welcome block (not the menu part...just the post/threads? |
Cyb!!!! man, your hacks are the best... you have an ear to the ground and seem to know what people need! thanks for this hack..
|
1.
Can you add phrase translation to "Menu Items", please. The same as for: Phrase 1 Phrase 2 Phrase 3 Phrase 4 2. Why not to add "Phrase 5" with text like: "There is no new posts". It will be a replace for "New Posts: 0". 3. Allow uses to add picture before $cyb_nptc_menu1 via ACP |

Thanks ;) |
Well if you feel like adding new things..:p
A Large edit button would be nice for the "Menu Items" section. Otherwise not to much i can think of. |
i get the error that looks like this New Post ( Array Threads)
so i disabled the hack |
v2.0 - Jul 31. 2007.
-Added "No New Posts" to show when there is no new posts after user last visit -Smart Search Menu (SSM) improved (no more need to write lines of code, just put forum IDs in setting field) -SSM automatically hidden when there is no new posts -A lot of improvements and optimization done, including: *two templates removed *improved integration with different styles (to avoid manual template edits) To upgrade: Import product XML, allow overwrite. |
I have a modified navbar and use $cyb_nptc_menu1 and $cyb_nptc_menu2 lines of code. After upgrading to the 2.0 they don't work and just disappeared.
What kind of code should I use instead of? |
..and where are the links to all the phrases?
|
You don't need to do any template changes. It should work with no problems (unless you miss navbar template on your board :)). To find/customize phrases use Search function in PhraseManager.
|
Cybernetec, it works only with unmodified navbar template for me. I have heavy modified navbar and need to define where the phrase "New Posts" will be.. What I need to insert then?

Cybernetec, thank you! Now everything is ok. Your hack rocks!
|
does it show ALL new posts to ALL members since last visit...including the ones posted in a private forum. I don't need "non private forum members" wondering where all the other posts are that they can't read.
