Extended Reputation Display

This modification is no longer available or supported.

This hack extends the existing reputation display system from just the light/dark green pips to green and golden pips, and then golden stars as the pips limit is reached.

The dark green pips are followed by light green pips, which are then followed by 'golden' pips. When the limit these can display is reached, the display is prefixed by a golden Star, and started again. If your reputation is zero then the neutral grey pip is displayed. Negative reputations are displayed in a similar manner using light and dark red pips and stars.

Each time you 'lap' the limit of the pips display, another star is added. The number of stars in unlimited. The number and value of the pips in each group of pips is defined by six settings in the vboptions > reputation options. A line break can be inserted after the stars. The extended display system can be enabled/disabled in the options.

Just follow the install instructions in the zip file to install this product.

Dunc 07-31-2006 05:44 PM

When I installed it my rep images weren't displayed [they got that box with a red 'x' in the corner, I don't know how to describe it] ;o

And I beleive the URL's are all right.

Help =o!!

Edit: Nvm i have sorted it.

Jericho2004 07-31-2006 07:52 PM

Is it possible to stick with 11 pips and have them change to the next color when all reach the first color? For instance, once you are full green with 11 pips, then it starts over at the beginning with the first pip being the next color. The next color could be gold or whatever and it progresses one pip at a time until all the green pips turn to gold.

Paul M 07-31-2006 08:02 PM

No, that's not possible without a complete rewrite.

Jack Black 08-06-2006 12:31 PM

Does the 3.5 version work with 3.6? If not how can i upgrade the mod when i upgrade the forum?

Paul M 08-06-2006 02:58 PM

AFAIK, the 3.5 version should work, however, to upgrade, fust import the new product with overwrite set to yes.

arindra 08-07-2006 06:33 PM

i have it on a non live forum , so cant give feedback except install is smooth

Hoffi 08-09-2006 06:28 AM

I like the settings and the small golden Pips. But I don't want the big ones. Is it possible to deactivate the big Ones? Maybe by putting a zero in the Field?

Paul M 08-09-2006 07:54 AM

There is currently no way to disable the stars, I'll consider that for a future update.

You could change reputation_goldstar.gif for something small (and transparent).

hoov 08-09-2006 08:07 PM

very nice Paul.....

installed it but can't bring it to work.....it still shows the old reputation phrases which came with VB and not the pips....

User is infamous around these parts
User can only hope to improve
User has a little shameless behaviour in the past

any idea what I'm doing wrong???

Paul M 08-10-2006 01:09 AM

Not really sure what you mean, but this does not affect the reputation 'phrases'.

RaceJunkie 08-10-2006 02:08 AM

Try using the default skin. (No Parent) I have a custom style that does the same thing. And it is a issue with the style. It works correctly when I use a Default vB style

Paul M 08-10-2006 04:11 PM

Looks like you haven't uploaded the GIF files to the correct place, so your browser (firefox ?) is displaying the alt text instead.

Images are correct this only happens after you give rep to a user. all other times it displays right..

Yes I am using FF and same issue occures using I.E. and only on my custom style so this leads me to a Style issue and not yours. At least my case anyway.

Be sure you upload all images to your custom skin images folder as well.

I.E. forums/images/custom_style_name/images/reputation
You will need to add Pauls images to all the image folders for each skin you are using..

Paul M 08-23-2006 04:39 PM

You haven't uploaded the images to the correct place.

MotMann 08-31-2006 09:18 AM

Paul.. your Hack doesn't work on my side.

There ist yust the original Renommee to see.

http://www.xbox360gamertag.de/Forum/...id=4#post30348

I have import the xml as Product and upload the gifs in the reputation folder.

Need help :(

Paul M 08-31-2006 10:13 PM

Guests do not have permission to view your link.

MotMann 08-31-2006 10:17 PM

okey.. use that one ;)

http://www.xbox360gamertag.de/Forum/...achfolger.html

Paul M 08-31-2006 10:29 PM

That doesn't really show me anything wrong - I can see a few people with one pip, so the display seems to be working (I assume they only have enough reputation for one pip to be displayed). What exactly is not working ?

MotMann 08-31-2006 10:34 PM

Ah. I think, that User see all pip, but the ones, that not used, are dark.

MotMann 08-31-2006 11:13 PM

Okey. i push my Renomme high and i see the PIP. Thank's ;)

What are the best settings for each pip?

Paul M 08-31-2006 11:20 PM

There are no best settings, it depends entirely on how much people use reputation on your forum.

Hi

Great mod, however I am just starting out to use Vbulletin 3.6 for the first time and when I downloaded this mod, it said to "Import the XML file as a product using the ACP Product Manager"

How do I do this? what is the acp product manager and where can I find it?

Apologies for sounding stupid!!!!

Paul M 09-03-2006 01:26 PM

ACP = Admin Control Panel.

brisomac: As Paul has said the ACP is the Admin Control Panel.

To get into that you click the Admin link on the bottom of your forum and then login.

Once you are in the ACP, There is a menu item on the left hand side called Plugins & Products, click that and other menu options will drop down. Click on Manage Products, which opens up a new page in the large frame of the admin panel. Then click on add/import product on that page. That will take you to the uploading options... Then choose file, find the .xml file on your computer, then click import.

Hope that helps.

Paul M: hack works good for me, installed :)

JGM007 09-12-2006 01:13 AM

Hi Paul M,
I have a question, would it be possible to set a limit on start like say 10 regular stars and a person gets upgraded to a variable image, such as a small star cluster and the little stars start over again, after the next ten the variable image changes to a larger cluster and so on?

Muellmann 09-19-2006 09:45 AM

very good Hack easy installable and well done and works all fine on 3.6 for me.

No, not possible unless more code is added, and some of the existing code altered slightly.
