Top Posters mod for vb 3.6.

This displays a page with the Top Forum Posters for a given set of periods. Two periods are fixed ('This Month' & 'Overall') but can be turned off in the options. The other three periods are user definable (in days) - the default values are 1 day (24 hours), 7 days & 28 days. These three columns cannot be turned off.

The number of posters to be shown can also be set, the default is the top 10 posters. You can also select which usergroups are included (or excluded) in the count, so members in banned groups etc are not shown. Excluded is only available from v3.29 onwards.

If enabled, it will also attempt to add a link to your Quick Links or Navbar. There is an option to prefix this path if you use something like CMPS.

To install just unzip the xml file and import it using the Product Manager

Thanks for this. :) I just installed it.

Again, looks fine to me, so I don't know what you mean.

The overall column isn't pulling in the actual top 10. If you go to the member list and sort on posts you can see there are people missing.

Same goes for each column. On my forum it isn't pulling in the actual top 10 for that time period. Not sure if it is related to multiple user groups or what!

Paul M 08-04-2006 02:49 AM

Did you read the notes ?

The default is 2,5,6,7 I believe (and also primary usergroup only).

It's working now, I upgraded to 3.6 Gold last night and magically it started working :)

Ohiosweetheart 08-06-2006 09:55 PM

fantastic!

:) Installed

Ohiosweetheart 08-12-2006 10:34 AM

I love this hack.

One thing I do wish it had... the option to pull the top Posters for the past 12 hours, rather than just 24 hours. This would be very useful for sites that have posting contests aka Post-a-thons ;)

Paul M 08-12-2006 04:11 PM

If you set one of the columns to 0.5 days then you will get 12 hours.

Thank You! Great hack!!!

TamCaVBoy3 08-14-2006 03:04 AM

i see it in quick links, but don't see it in the forumhome...weird...could it be because i installed Welcome Headers mod ?

Paul M 08-14-2006 12:52 PM

No sure what you mean, there is nothing specific to the forumhome in this.

TamCaVBoy3 08-15-2006 12:23 AM

like on the main page, will the top users suppose to show on top of the forums...

Paul M 08-15-2006 12:27 AM

If you mean on the navbar, no this will not do that, you would have to manually add a link. This is designed to (try and) add it to your Quick Links only.

Ben Wilkins 08-16-2006 10:01 PM

Hey, how can i get 1 hour? is it 0.1?

Ben Wilkins 08-16-2006 10:03 PM

I think it might be:
0.083333333333333333333333333333333

bongwater 08-19-2006 02:30 PM

thanks, *clicked install*

bongwater 08-20-2006 09:00 AM

I installed it, and I'm using 3.6 gold. When I change the original 3 column defaults of 1 day, 7 days, and 28 to different numbers, it recalculates everything correctly, but the headers still say "24 hours", "7 days" "28 days".

how can this be fixed? thanks

Sorry to be so blunt here but where do you set this? Or have I completely missed something?

netwiz 08-21-2006 10:24 AM

Installed it on 3.6 Gold installation.. but does not seem to work. It misses few users.

The Top Posters section in vbulletin options.

It works fine. Please read the notes or post #12 of this thread.

wolfyman 08-28-2006 07:23 PM

I have added additional usergroups to the settings, but they don't show yet. Do I need to do anything else?

Aso, when I check version, I get this error:

Version check failed. No version number was found at this location. The URL for the version check may be incorrect, or the server may be experiencing problems. Please try again later.

Paul M 08-28-2006 07:35 PM

What version do you have installed ?

wolfyman 08-28-2006 07:41 PM

3.21, but I just noticed you're on 3.22, so I'll upgrade now.

wolfyman 08-28-2006 07:44 PM

ok, now check version works.

However, my usergroups looks like this: 2,5,6,7,34,35,36,37,19,26,29,32,30,28

But group 36 is still not showing up on the toplist. There may be others, but it just so happens that group 36 is my most active usergroup so they let me know first :P

Get Shorty 08-28-2006 11:15 PM

Installed and working perfectly...

Is 36 their primary group ?

wolfyman 08-28-2006 11:34 PM

The one case I was looking at that is not on the list

Primary: 36
Additional: 30, 26, 7, 37

Another that is not showing up:

Primary: 36
Additional: 30, 26, 2

wolfyman 08-28-2006 11:40 PM

It occurs to me that it might be easier to let people specify which usergroup to block from the toplist, rather than which group to add to the toplist.
