Arcade Keeps logging me out
 

sorry more questions,

Everytime i go into arcade and start playing the games on me forum,

i keep getting logged out, like i would finish playing a game

and see that it has logged me out.

It mostly logs me out while im in a Tournament.

Do you think its my forum or Arcade doing this to me?

ok i see this could be just firefox doing this cause it doesnt log me out
on explorer

make sure you check to 'remember me' if that doesnt work it could be a problem with the cookies in FF

Sounds strange. What VB version are you using?

3.5.4

My users have experienced the same problem of being logged out when clicking to start a game in the arcade, you can click on the link to go into the arcade but then when you click on a link to play games you get logged out. I'm running vb3.5.4. It does it to me even when I click 'remember me' and I'm the admin.

i believe this could be a firefox problem as laz hasd said in his first post, this does not happen on explorer to me either only firefox.

This happens to me using IE 64 bit and 32 bit and on my partners system using IE 32 bit

Any thoughts on this please? its not a show stopper but it is a little annoying, if its a simple setting I've missed I'd love to know what it is as the problem seems isolated to a few users of ibproarcade.

happens to me and my members im using firefox ill find out what they are using

im not sure whats going on but my arcade has stopped logging me out,
im not sure if this has something todo with me arcade being reinstalled
or not, or firefox is working better lol, dont no whats going on but its
good it has stoped logging me useing firefox. i love useing fire fox, i find it alot quicker in some way :)

I haven't had this probem ever since I started checking the "Remember Me" box when I log in. :)

Anyway this "Arcade Keeps logging me out" is wrong guys. It's the board. If you're inactive long enough you might get logged out (except if you're using IE and check "remember me"). It's not the arcade's fault.

Before I installed the arcade I had no problems staying logged in and being remembered from one week to the next whether I used IE or Firefox it was not a problem and no users reported any problems. I then installed the arcade and I can log in and click 'remember me' ,browse through the forums, view threads, post new threads, post new topics, reply to other people's threads then as soon as I enter the arcade and click on a game to play it logs me out.

I have another vb I'd really like to install this mod on but I'm reluctant to do so while I have this problem on my other vb. If I have time tommorow I will install a test forum from a fresh install of 3.6.0 and install the arcade and see if that has the same problem.

Arrggh! :D this is really annoying, did a fresh install of a test forum and it stays logged in so why the hell the other one does I don't know, its all on the same domain. I guess I'll wait until the hotfix comes out for 3.6.0 then perform the upgrade from 3.5.4 - 3.6.0 on the forum that gives me the log out problem and then setup the arcade again and see how that goes.

when arcade used to log me out, it logged me out everytime i went into arcade, or soon as i clicked to play a game. but everything is cool now its been reinstalled, its all weird to me lol.

Oh sorry I guess I didn't read carefully enough. :surprised: I thought you meant 'that other' bug (if you play for a long time = you are inactive, you get logged out).

that to was also happening to me lol, play for to long and you goto submit your score and find you were logged out.

Yeah indeed it sucked. :D But it hasn't happened to me for a long time now, maybe cause I check "remember me"...

My users and I get logged out as well. It only happens when we play on the arcade. The timeout feature is set to 1800 seconds but it logs us out as soon as the game is over and it tries to submit a score. Even if I only play for a couple minutes.

Checking remember me doesnt make a difference. It happens on internet explorer. Havent tried firefox.

Im using ibProArcade v2.5.6+ on vBulletin Version 3.6.0 Release Candidate 2.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had a few members on my forum having this problem. After some digging around it turned out to be an end user problem and nothing to do with the arcade.

Since majority of my forum members are teenagers it is all to do with parents using over protective firewalls and shit like Norton internet security suite.

One kid just turned his off and everything on my forum worked for him. I also have vbPlaza installed and they were getting problems with that as well. All fixed when they adjusted a few settings.

So is this a "vent" thread or does someone actually come here and tell us what to do to fix the problem?

i think it's merely a vent thread.. this is the only hack installed on my forum which causes the logout problem.. however.. when i log back in.. if i hit remember and don't dwell on a game for too long.. i don't seem to have the problem anymore.. but it always does it atleast once.

Well it's strange that most people don't encounter these problems at all. It's not easy for MrZeropage to fix these problems if he simply doesn't have them (like most of us).

None of our members have encountered that problem and we have plenty of members playing arcade (some highscores have even taken more than 1 hour). I still think it's a cookie problem, either server side or client side.

ok here is a question for those having problems. Are you using FireFox? and if you are do you have it to clear cookies when you close your browser? And if you do to both are you closing ANY windows immediatly before, during, or after playing the game?

If you answered yes to all the problem lies with you. I would also check to make sure NOTHING clears your cookies at all and see if it happens. Lots of things can cause your cookies to be cleared (i.e. FF settings, Zone Alarm, firewall, anti-virus/spyware.) all these can be related and can be the reasons only some of the users experience this. I myself have 1 and only 1 user that I know of that is having this problem and I am awaiting to hear from him about the 'remember me' box problem.

If you really want someone to help troubleshoot then send me a PM and I will see what I can do But I will need lots of info and access to your arcades.
