[BB Code] Google video
 

This is a simple BB code which allows you to display Google videos. :cool:

Installation:

Go to 'Custom BB Codes' -> 'Add New BB Code'

Title: Google Video
Tag: gv
Replacement: Example: [gv]8719729790252878017[/gv]
Description: Allows you to display Google videos. Simply add the video ID inside the tag.
Use {option}: No

OPTIONAL STEP
Button Image (Optional): [enter the url to the attached pic you uploaded]

And "Save".


This was not my idea, I just noticed a recently posted hack which didn't work so I thought I'd make one that actually works. :cool: (At least worked for me, tested with three different videos.)

My mistake, I'd omitted the - before the digits.

Just a thought, does this method use more of your bandwidth ?

Server bandwidth? No I don't think so as the videos are loaded from Google site...

i dont know much coding but is there a way to edit it so it plays auto with no sound?

How would you make it so that the gv shows up in the default BB Code line on the thread editor?

I'm just getting black screens.

First of all, sorry for my absence as I was on a vacation and forgot about this thread. :rolleyes:


Anyway, you have to upload the attached image to your server first.
Then go to AdminCP and Custom BB Codes --> BB Code Manager.

Then edit the "Google Video" BBcode and add the right path to the image you just uploaded for the "Button Image (Optional)" field.

Then I guess you've added the wrong "code".


Here's a little example how you should add the "code":

Just copy that big number code and add it between the [gv] tag like this:
[gv]566073580166301634[/gv]

You have to notice the little "-" mark before the numbers in this video. There are sometimes that little "-" in some videos. You have to include that too. I made same mistakes before too with that and got black screens.

Copy that big number code (and remember to include that little "-" in front of the numbers) and add it between the [gv] tag like this:
[gv]-1457005241957167536[/gv]

but if possible with single bcode for both googlevideo and youtube ?
if it is possible then better to keep single radher then double bbcodes and buttons also

No.. but now that I did, it also has 5 different BB codes. They're all just installed when you import the product.
