Pay to Register
CANCELED: I have sold my licenses and will no longer release addons for vBulletin. I have found a new forum software that is currently in alpha testing. I plan to use it and convert all addons to it. Thank you all for your support and use of my addons. Sorry if I did not deliver exactly what you all wanted but when a great product becomes crappy then I bail before I lose anymore money in it.
Thanks and good luck to you all Steve M |

thanks this might come in handy later on
Yes definately will for many.
Screenshots please
TheHeartSmasher: There is no point to screenshots as its a redirection and you can't capture a redirection in a screenshot.
Thanks. I'll check this out soon!
is there a way to have an option? like pay for a subscription or have a free account?
I am having a problem with this...
When I click register it is not taking me to the payments page, it is looking for register.php?do=addmember and is coming up with a 404 error, page not found... When I had this for 3.5.4 it worked great, I updated to 3.6 and it is not working and I am stuck for a solution... Thank you, Ella |
AR Forums: Just set your subscriptions up to show at the sametime or you can easily set it up at the beginning for them to click on Free or Paid account then it will redirect with corresponding subscription showing. I will look into this as soon as I can. I am swamped for a few weeks so I won't have time till after then.
daystorm: Did you completely remove the 3.5.4 version and install 3.6 version? |
Yes I did completely remove it, and I just did it again. It is still trying to go to addmember. Is there anything else I can do?
Well vbulletin is setup to go to addmember as that is the final step. I will check into this soon. What version of vb are you running.
I am using vb 3.62 and it does not work for me. I just read on vb.com that subscriptions is available to registered members only. So everytime someone registers it takes them to payments.php ... and a no permission message
Lionel: That is true, but my plugin uses that to its advantage. So when addmember loads, they are already a registered user, but the only way this will work is if you have email confirmation turned off unfortunately I will have to make a new one for use with email confirmation turned on.
What I did was to move the hook to register complete, so it takes them to payment.php. I limited regitered permissions and moved all the goodies to premium membership
Ok cool, if that worked for you then I will probably update the plugin to use the register complete hook instead.
That worked just fine for me. The trick was to lower the permissions for registered user.
Sorry everyone but with my server down and me looking for new hosting I have no where to work on updates or new plugins so it will be a bit longer before I release a new update.
Anyone have this running?
John, do you have messengers? PM me that info and I will contact you to try and get this running.

I will be releasing a new version tonight that will be 3.6.4 compliant.
Is anyone running this? Does it work?
What version of vBulletin you running ricker?
3.6.4
ricker, I am working on a version for 3.6.4 as this version does not work properly. Right now I can't access any of my sites plus google because of my ISP blocking them for some reason so once I have my access back then I will finish the new version and get it released.
Hey Steve,
If you have a license you could use it on my server to test it out and if its working I can put it up on one of my live sites to see how it works :) Thanks |
can this hack be converted to "pay to post" in a way?
What coders think about that? |
Got a host, I am working on various projects and right now Pay to Register is not at the top of my list but I hope to get to it soon.
Any idea when you would have time for it Steve?
Thanks John |
I'm gonna try to get more done on it this weekend. So I'll let everyone know.
great news as i can use this as well.
can you modify it to have a page with options. free and paid? kind of like a line stating what you get for both and it redirects accordingly. llike rapidshare does when you try to download something. |
Did you get anything doen on this Steve?
Really interested :) |
Thanx

What is the status Steve?
Still working on getting this updated with a few features. Unfortunately I leave town in about a week so I won't have access to the internet for about 4 or 5 days.
I am sure it will be worth the wait Steve. Thanks for the status update. Be safe while outta town and we look forward to when you get back and have time. ;)
Ok I am taking today off from work so I decided to see if I can get this wheeled out. Here is the question that is important to me at this point.
Did everyone create a usergroup that had only subscription permissions or did you take your Registered Users group and make it so it only has subscription permissions? |
will your new plug in have the option to be regular member (free) or paid (custom group) from the register.php for new members?
easch column would have its benefits and the member can choose what they want. let me know |
