Separated categories now fully working

This hack will separate all the categories from each other. This is still a beta but it works fine exept for one bug. That bug it that the Forum, Last Post, Threads, Posts bar doesn't go away when you collapse the category as shown in the screenshot.

All install information is provided inside the file

There is a bug that has been fixed!
Thanks to wizardan and to Jake Bunce for the bug fix

Now when you collapse a category, everything collapses (see screenshot)!

Feel free to ask for new features or to report bugs

If you use my code click INSTALL

Both mods are the same but mine can keep the "Mark Forums Read View Forum Leaders" bar and it displays it like if there wasn't any modification involved

about time you released this on vB.org, it will be a hit! :)

Hi,
i have a Bug with the Last Post table.

See Screenshot (Letzter Beitrag).

cedric_bariteau 07-01-2006 02:58 PM

it moves to make place for your last two colomn, what you have to do is to go in forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost

find:
Code:

<tbody id="collapseobj_forumbit_$forumid" style="{$collapseobj_forumid}">
        <tr align="center">
          <td class="thead" width="5%"> </td>
          <td class="thead" width="55%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="30">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="5%">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="5%">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
          <if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
          <td class="thead" width="0%">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
          </if>
        </tr>

replace by
Code:

<tbody id="collapseobj_forumbit_$forumid" style="{$collapseobj_forumid}">
        <tr align="center">
          <td class="thead" width="5%"> </td>
          <td class="thead" width="45%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="30">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="10%">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="10%">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
          <if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
          <td class="thead" width="0%">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
          </if>
        </tr>

if it doesn't work try to replace it by
Code:

<tbody id="collapseobj_forumbit_$forumid" style="{$collapseobj_forumid}">
        <tr align="center">
          <td class="thead" width="5%"> </td>
          <td class="thead" width="40%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="25">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="15%">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="15%">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
          <if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
          <td class="thead" width="0%">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
          </if>
        </tr>

if it still doesn't work tell me, I'll figure something out

Andrew111888 07-02-2006 09:55 PM

I'd like to post a bug fix.

When you add

Code:

<if condition="$forum[forumid] != x">
</table>

<table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
</if>

to the bottom of the forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost template, the page will still appear fine, but will not validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional, as it's opening a new table, breaking a line, then opening another table.

If you make the code

Code:

<if condition="$forum[forumid] != x">
</table>
</if>

it will render and validate fine (IE/Firefox).

cedric_bariteau 07-03-2006 02:31 AM

you're right, I'll fix that, thank you. That Opening table is completly useless anyways.

Doc Great 07-07-2006 02:11 PM

It seems not to be valid xhtml 1.0 Transitional :rolleyes:

Cheers,
Sven

Andrew111888 07-08-2006 07:59 PM

Yeah, I just posted the fix for that...

It says:

"Last Update: 30. Jun 2006"

So does that mean the download is NOT valid xhtml 1.0 Transitional? :confused:

Senn 09-16-2006 09:06 AM

Ive tried to install it, But I dont see any changes:
