My Site Is Gone!!!
Could someone tell me what this means and how i fix it PLEASE :(!!!!!
Configuration: includes/config.php exists, but is not in the 3.5 format. Please convert your config file via the new config.php.new. Someone (one of our techs) must have tried a hack or changing something..I just got home and checked my site (hiphopscrypt.com/forums) and this is what came up |
can you just get back the orginal config and edit with your mysql info and upload it?
|
thats a porblem cause i dont know how.....i dont know the first thing about mysql or anythhing
|
well.. first you got to know how to edit the config file...and know what is your database info... If you don't even know the info, can't really help much..
|
It's not hard. Get your installation package that you got from VB. Open the config.php.new file, and enter all the info required. (the same info you put in when you first installed), then re-upload the file.
But then again we're assuming you installed your site yourself....if you didn't, holla at one of your techs. |
and it will all be fixed then? And no info will be lost from my forums?

also...if the people at vb installed the board on our server, couldnt we simply email them, and they could fix it?
Because VB installed the board |
oh, then I am not sure about that since I didn't pay vb to install it for me.. you need to submit a support ticket.
|
Fixed :)
The config.php file format was all messed up which was causing the problem. |
hmm..that creates a question...that has to be a manual error from a person huh? Maybe someone tried isntalled a hack, one of my staff techs or admins?

So you are saying that this could only occur by someone going in trying to change something or messing up a hack correct?
|
generally speaking the only time that the config file is touched is when you originally install vB. it was possibly a problem with your host, but I really couldn't be sure about it.
|
Seems they didnt over write the previous vb config.php with the new config.php for 3.5
|
The config.php file was the correct one, but it had shifted all onto one line hence the problems. Reformating it back into the correct layout solved the problem.
