Locked out of my own forum
 

One of my admins screwed up, removed all our admins
and then never seen again.

So Im on my site. and theres one admin. I have no powers, I have the FTP with all the files..But i don't think config.php or any of that would do anything? How do i get back on and admin myself.

I think you could just change your usergroupid using phpMyAdmin. It's worth a shot -- but backup your db, just to be safe.

in your config.php file add your userid to the superadministrators variable then upload tools.php from the do not upload folder to the install directory and run the restore admin tool. delete the file and try that.

You can always reup all the files and do a fresh install. What version of vb are you running?

upload tools.php
make a new admin
delete tools.php
done

guess you should have listened to us in your previous thread informing you to add your self to the unalterable user list. :-p

Then thought about making the same mods over and over :-p

I got the tools.php in the Install directory

I putmyself down as a special user in the superadminstrators

Don't know what to do next. Restore admin tool?..

It's the option above Other Tools called Reset Admin Access

Where the Bold is I put my user name.
Then i hit save?

don't edit the file, just upload it and run that option and follow the instructions it gives you.

You need to upload it to your install folder and you will need your vb customer number to access it

I did it.
It didn't reset me though

Im pretty sure i got the config.php right...

Then i typed in vb customer number , i reset it.
do=Shazz&type=access
that was at the end of my URL of the reset.

deleted the file.
Nothing happend.

that section should be where X is your userid number on your forums (if it's 1 then just leave that bit alone)

If this doesn't work, then you will need to change your usergroup via phpmyadmin

I'm having the same error message. I can do all admin things but I cannot create a new user. I ran tools.php. Any other ideas?
