Can't get the AdSense to work on the CMPS!

Does anyone have any ideas how I can place a few AdSense on my CMPS and other pages? I am having no luck at all. I figured out how to get it on my site in general, just not on these special pages.

For instance, I would love to have an ad Here on this page But just can't get it working. Can someone please help?

Thanks!

FLMom, what have you tried so far?

Have you checked out vBadvanced.com to see if any of the Google modules over there would do what you're looking for?

FLMom 06-15-2006 03:14 PM

Well I tried to add a module, but it won't work with html, so then I tried adding a new page, but am a little clueless with the file paths section so that didn't work. I have been looking over at advanced, but am afraid my search skills aren't that great. I did see something in there, but its about 2 years old and I am sure tons have changed since then, because I couldn't get that to work.

I can get it to work with my Logician's Webtemplate pages and on my forum home page and even on the main page of my site that is the CMPS, so I know I am doing it right, its just on the CMPS pages that I am having a hard time with. I hope that made sense.

ok got it figured out, man that was hard for a noob, but glad it works now :D

For an Adsense module even a very old version of a module should work since it's just an HTML template.

I'm attaching a Google Adsense module that I use on one of my sites. Take the following steps...

1. Import it. (ACP => vBa CMPS => Download Upload Module)

2. Modify the template 'adv_portal_google_adsense' and replace the code between "<!-- START: Google Code -->" and "<!-- END: Google Code -->" with your own Google Adsense code. (ACP => Styles & Templates => Style Manager => {choose your parent style} => Edit Templates)

3. [OPTIONAL] Modify the module to make any changes to it (eg: Switch it from the left to the middle or right columns, etc.). (ACP => vBA CMPS => Edit Modules => Google Ads)

4. Modify the CMPS page(s) that you want your Google Ads to appear on. (ACP => vBa CMPS => Edit Pages => {select your page} => {turn on the check box for Google Ads})

I'm also attaching a screen shot of what the final result should look like.

That is exaclty what I ended up doing...I went back and double checked the thread from advance and just played around until I got it. Thank you so much for your help with this! I appreciate it a lot :D

They claim it was a very old version, and if your using 3.6 it would be outdated..

Did you make sure that the new module is active and that it is turned on for the CMPS page that you're viewing?

Thank you KW802, this helped me out bigtime and it answered all my frustrations. Can you or anyone tell me which template do I edit if I wanted to place ads right under my navbar?

thanks so so much!

Not to spam my own mod :p but it can be used to manage Ads across non-standard vBulletin pages including vB CMPS. I forget how exactly, you'd have to search the 3.6 thread to see but it was just a case of changing a phrase slightly and pasting it into the navbar instead of the header.

Can this work for 3.6.4? I just upgraded.

^^It does work but can you use more than 1?

Should work fine with just about version of vBa CMPS that supports importing modules since it's just some HTML code. For older versions the templates would need to be done manually (since the older versions of CMPS didn't have support for importing/exporting modules).

Sure. Either modify the template to put your additional code into or copy the existing module into a new one (ACP => vBa CMPS => Edit Modules => {select existing Google module} => Select An Action => Copy) => {...}).

I tried using 2 modules on my front page but I can't seem to get it to not distort.
