What religion are you?

What is your Religion?

Gio~Logist 05-20-2006 05:33 PM

Oh boy, do i smell a debate. I don't even think i should post what religion i am hehe. Oh and by the way, you missed Athius.

Dan 05-20-2006 05:37 PM

I personally do not have a religion, basically based upon the fact no one can prove to me that a god, godess, or even gods exist. Untill then I have none.

Almost the same as my beliefs fewyn.

I was baptized as a child and never was comfirmed due to the fact that i admitted to not believing in god when i was in the 8th grade or so.

With the ability to learn and learning itself, comes the ability to challenge and question.

As technology and intellectualism increases, so does our curiosity and eager to question. We begin wanting proof and a reason for everything. Unfortunately, i do not find proof and reason behind the bible. In my opinion the people that i've seen who strongly believe in god and faith, live their life in accordance to the bible. It's as if their life is being lived for/through someone else. They begin to depend on god and faith for everything and live life always trying to do good to others thinking that (as the bible promises i believe) this good will come back to them. My opinion on life is that it's like a circle in which you start off happy with no worries as a baby and then stay in search of that happiness for the rest of your life. Throghout this circle, the lives you touch and memories you make is what makes your life what it is. However, i also believe that throguhout this circle everything you accomplish/fail to accomplish is credited to you and only you (not god or the bible). Meaning that the decisions we make in life, what we do in our life, how we life it, is all for us and no one else. Regardless of what the bible sais, your life will always be lived the same and your success in life and only be determined by your actions. As for evidence on god and such, until i am presented with something ot give me a reason to believe, i will continue to question and look for answers. Until then, i ask not what god or the bible can do for me, but what i can do for me.

JohnBee 05-20-2006 06:15 PM

innapropriate poll for a site such as this.

Dan 05-20-2006 06:19 PM

This is called the lounge, we can talk about whatever we want here within limits :)

Shelley_c 05-20-2006 06:28 PM

I don't have a religion. I don't believe in intelligent design and I'm more on the side of evolution.

davidw 05-20-2006 07:16 PM

I am a Christian, but not part of any organized religion.

TruthElixirX 05-20-2006 07:17 PM

Christian, non-denominational.

Revan 05-20-2006 09:22 PM

I voted No Religion.
However. For the people that say the Bible and the whole theory of God is a complete load, I ask you this: How much sense does the Big Bang make?
Ok so an atom exploded and eventually formed the universe as we saw it today. To say that this atom decided to explode on its own makes as much sense as saying God made it happen.

In my personal opinion, I believe that there was some force that set it in motion. There had to be. Nothing happens completely on its own and for no apparent reason.
From where that force and that atom came, I have no explanation for.
In short, I don't believe someone said let there be Computer and from the hardware man was made, but I don't believe anything happened for no reason either.

Yep, and I have said that a couple times to my friends, but still they find some arrogant way to get around that. :cross-eyed:

Me myself, am Atheist.

Paul M 05-20-2006 09:51 PM

davidw 05-20-2006 10:10 PM

I think Revan knows those ways too, or are they of the Sith?

Sexual preferences, religious branding and political debates have no place in forums such as this one. These types of discussions fuel heated arguements and promotes descrimination between members.

You're the only one getting upset about it so far. ;)

I am neither Jedi nor Sith. I have adapted the teachings of my old master, Kreia, who became Darth Traya.

Chris

I'm Agnostic as well... ;)

antialiasis 05-21-2006 01:46 AM

Agnostic-leaning-towards-atheist. Might be some greater force out there, what would I know?

Firm nonbeliever in religious scriptures, though.

peterska2 05-21-2006 02:08 AM

Practicing Christian.

Not sure if that means that I am a Christian, or that I haven't got it right yet so I am not a real one ;)

Torqued 05-21-2006 02:21 AM

Taoism.

http://www.religioustolerance.org/taoism.htm

IMHO, all this god/goddess stuff is merely man's attempt to anthropomorphize various aspects of The Tao. :bunny:

You're like my dad, he says he is Christian, but then he say's he's not a real one.

Anyways, No Religion is in the lead. :D

Boofo 05-22-2006 11:40 AM

I beleive in a Supreme being (or beings), I'm just not sure it is the same one everyone else seems to belive in. Him and I don't get along very well these days.

Xenon 05-22-2006 12:59 PM

i thought we get along quite well bob? ^^

Boofo 05-22-2006 01:00 PM

LOL I meant that OTHER him. ;)

Azhrialilu 05-22-2006 01:37 PM

I believe in a supreme energy, as opposed to a being, but I also believe that energy is inside all of us instead of some external "all-knowing" entity :)

I may take you up on that. In PM maybe as not to start a flame war on the site here. ;)

Azhrialilu 05-22-2006 02:08 PM

PM/IM - whichever you like... I'm normally around here or on MSN :D

Blue-Inc 05-23-2006 12:38 AM

Looks as if the Majority of people around here, have no religion or are just Atheist. I don't know what to believe really, so that's why I choose the righteous path of the Atheist, or the non-religious bloke, whatever suits my title better.

Umm... "have no religion" and "just athiest" are the same thing. Do you mean Christian? Because Athiest and Christian are the two leaders in the poll currently. :)

arcadian_girl 05-23-2006 01:58 AM

music is my religion :)
