F.A.Q
To display each navbar alone do this
1-Add your navbar with any name that contains LETTERS only
like "first, second" Don't put NUMBERS
2-then edit your template say we will put our navbar above breadcrumb
so we open template navbar
then find
Code:

<!-- breadcrumb, login, pm info -->
above it we add
Code:

$developer_navbar[Navbarname]
so in our example it will be
Code:

$developer_navbar[first]
To Display all navbars under each other
open your template let's say navbar
we want to display navbars under breadcrumb
so we find
Code:

<!-- nav buttons bar -->
add below it
Code:

$adv_navbars

EasyTarget 05-16-2006 09:23 PM

wow, awesome. installing.

Is there support for pulldown menus or using the additional navbar/s in other locations?

Developer 05-16-2006 09:31 PM

for the drop down menus it needs more time so it's in my planned features
and you can use them in any location ;)

EasyTarget 05-16-2006 09:34 PM

nice.. easy install too.

Would it be possible to choose which templates/pages they show up on? (I'm using the webtemplates hack)

Lady Divus 05-16-2006 09:37 PM

Does this require Quicklinks to work? I had previously removed Quicklinks from my navbar, yet after installing this hack it shows all the links that used to be in Quicklinks in a vertical row under my navbar like this,

is this because when you uninstalled the hacks it let the entries in the db and the new navbar hack pulled from those tables?

Dr.Viggy, i didnt uninstall any hacks, i simply removed the Quicklinks code in my Navbar Template...Altho i can see where it would be possible that i left some renegade Quicklinks code in that template...How would that effect the Advanced Navbar either way? -

Dr.Viggy 05-16-2006 10:17 PM

i haven't installed this hack just yet so i'm not sure. i was just wondering i there were navbar template calls to similar places with both hacks

I understand. Im sure it is possible that there are template calls. That seems to be what is happening from the looks of it, but i am affraid to play with it until i hear back from Developer...Thanks -

question: how do you make the extra navbars show up in places like ibproarcade?

JD45 05-17-2006 12:20 AM

I'm getting a few sql errors.

When trying to make a new navbar:

atabase error in vBulletin 3.5.4:

Code:

Invalid SQL:

                        INSERT INTO vb_advnavbar_navbar
                        (barname,barstatus,bargroups)
                        VALUES
                        ('1', '1', '0'
          );

MySQL Error  : Table 'justpres_jppforums.vb_advnavbar_navbar' doesn't exist

When trying to view navbars:

Code:

                SELECT *
                FROM vb_advnavbar_navbar

evofile 05-17-2006 12:25 AM

whata nice hack.
thanks bro!
i'll install it during the day

JD45 05-17-2006 12:27 AM

and

Code:

Database error in vBulletin 3.5.4:

Invalid SQL:

                SELECT *
                FROM vb_advnavbar_links

                ORDER BY advnavbar_links.linkorder DESC
                LIMIT 0, 10;

MySQL Error  : Unknown table 'advnavbar_links' in order clause
Error Number : 1109

You don't need the <br />
in: $adv_navbars
<br />

if you want it to sit flush on your main navbar.

Also: The usergroup permissions don't work for adding a link. I added a link and only gave admins, mods and smods the ability to see it. The usergroup id's seperated by commas. I logged out and could still view the link as a guest.

Gooses 05-17-2006 02:50 AM

Oh, I get it now. It looks great! Thanks for making this.

Me too :surprised:

Shaliza 05-17-2006 04:39 AM

This looks like it might be better than the other two menu hacks. I'll try it later.
