Every Coder Starting to Remove his CODE ?

I visited a few thread and i see the attachment is removed what's up with this :surprised:

maybe admin should not give permisson for the coder to delete their attachment .. :D

Mr Chad 05-15-2006 01:59 AM

Its how coders fight back..

If they arent respected, why should they offer you free code.

The Chief 05-15-2006 02:01 AM

Interesting, really...

Then it would never be attached.

You probably looked at some template hacks that have no attachement.

Chroder 05-15-2006 02:05 AM

It's one thing to announce that you are fed up, one thing to get up and leave, but I think removing stuff is going too far.

Suggestions are helpful and can help the community improve. But this kind of thing is very detrimental and won't solve anything...

And you only make it easier for the rest of us to look better in member's eyes when you do that. I'm talking as a fellow coder now, not staff, by the way. ;)

Hellcat 05-15-2006 03:08 AM

Somehow I TOTALLY missed what's going on here....
Maybe it's because I just recently got back from a lack of time and didn't catch a thing that happened here recently....

Can someone fill me in?
As short as possible, plz :)

Coders angry about the way things are on vBorg.
Want things fixed.
Some are going to extremes.

A thinks A > B
B thinks B = A
A still thinks A > B
B now thinks A = A - B

Nice one yinyang.

To give a short answer to the original question: vBulletin.org don't own the copyright of these attachments. The author has the full rights to do with them as he wants, whatever others think of that. It is not up to the staff to decide if he can remove his own work or not.

Alan @ CIT 05-15-2006 10:40 AM

Just seems a shame that some coders decide to spite the community as a whole because they're un-happy with a handful of people.

Oh well, life goes on.

Alan.

/me deletes all his hacks
That'll learn you! Learn you good!!

Marco van Herwaarden 05-15-2006 10:44 AM

Alan, full moon is over, no need to remove them now anymore. :D

Ohiosweetheart 05-15-2006 11:36 AM

:D

Some coders who decide to pack their bag and leave have a different kind of angry then others though. Not eveybody has the same motives so it seems, especially if you talk to them in private.

Things change, your willingness to adapt and change with them determines your level of involvement. Coders come and go for many reasons, but taking their ball and leaving is an old tradition started back on the playground when we were just a couple feet high and will continue in different forms throughout our many stages of life.

Logikos 05-15-2006 06:09 PM

Whats your obsession with balls? :p

MPDev 05-15-2006 06:10 PM

It's a metaphor, how you read into it says alot about your train of thinking.

GEEZ. I seriously need to get with the computer lingo. :lick: Humor me anyone, what is "FTW"?

Tralala 05-16-2006 01:19 AM

LOL. Well, I did say to humor me. None of those made sense with "Ventrilo FTW" but it's cool.

We should have Ventrilo sessions. :)

I did have a ventrilo server but unsubscribed. Me and my forumites quit using it pretty much.

Freesteyelz 05-16-2006 01:50 AM

I currently have a 56 (should be bumped to 70 now) man up for a while now. Along with the IRC I think a voice utility can be beneficial.

Logikos 05-16-2006 02:49 AM

Skype is much better IMHO (in my humble opinion) :p
I use it as an aleternitive phone service. Skypein and Skypeout.
