Feel free to post any idea here in this thread, describe what you want, how it should work ect. and please no discussion only suggestions
That makes it more easy for me to sort through it, I later will edit the postings and mark things that got implemented ect.

This is a list of feature that are going to be in future development:

It would be pretty cool if it shows the games you have a high score in, in your profile.

ps: Where do you download games, I have been looking like crazy :P

I'm not sure if this bug fix made it to 2.5.6+ (cause I haven't upgraded yet), but
- "Leader of Leaderboard" updating automatically

I'm tired of doing this couple of times every day from ACP. Every time someone makes it to the top 10 it goes wrong..

What else can you put in here!!! Maybe more ways to give points, for some reason my users are still getting thousands of points even though i set it so if they get highschool they only get 20 points. Not sure how the points are tallied up so i really dont know how to set the points up yet.

Oh actually there is one thing, well two.

One would be to stop some games from auto submitting the score. not sure if thats possible. If you can add a page with a button before submitting or something.

And some kind of bug where sometimes you get a score of -1 for some reason. Its when you exit the game early or just get 0 on the game the game submits the score.

That depends on each Game itself, not the Arcade :)

Maybe a certain post count for certain games.

The ability to delete the best Score of all Time if you so desire to so, as they wont clear now, especially if somebody cheats. You have to delete and then reinstall the game to do this function now.

Ummm.. Weird. I can delete those scores with no problems.

actual Highscore Champion does empty ok

All personal Scores empty ok

Just cannot get rid of the best Score of All Time Section, withour deleting game and then reinstalling, I think the information of best Score of all Time is now contained in the Games List Tables.

it is you can delete it just by emptying 2 fields in the games_list table I believe bestscore and bestmid

It would be cool if you could name your tournaments yourself. Now they're just "{gamename} Tournamtnt" or something like that.

I'd just like to make my own names for tourneys. :)

Allow admins to access the arcade even when its not active.

I can think of a few:

- Award vBux points for top 10 high scores, not just highest scores. Admin has the ability to set all of these numbers.

- Can receive gifts/items rewards, not just vBux points

- Add few more default games

- Creating different teams/clans and have each clan challenge each other in a tournament.
- - - Private or public clans
- - - Jackpot amount can be divided equally to all clan members or each member recieve the jackpot amount
- - - Hidden traps/tricks other clan members or regular members. Recieve vBux if successful, loose points if fail.

- Bank robery (complement to the theft system in vBux/vbPlaza)
- Gift/items robery

Maybe the last two features belong to the vBux/vbPlaza, not obProArcade.

would love to be able to move stuff around without major edits and messing stuff up.

Delete games that are checked from the games list.

When there is a tie first in the high score champions, the second person gets a 3rd place trophy which is wrong. He/she should get a second place trophy :)

Ability to store .swf files and .zips outside of the public webroot, like at the same level as 'public_html'.

This would make it harder (impossible?) for people to leech the files.

What do you mean with "zip-game converter" ?
ZIP-Games from v3arcade are already supported...

about the converter: you mean it should be integrated in the ibPro-Installer, so it detects installed v3arcade and converts the games ect ?

Arcade FAQ could explain what the leader board, champions, king of arcade are. Could also have stuff like "why cant i play certain games in certain catagories". All these should off course go on the arcade nav, not main FAQ i dont think.

Maybe able to choose how many newest/most popular games to show up via admin cp.

- Ability to hide catagories from users that cant play games in them
- Ability to postion annoucements above "The arcade".
- Improve the ratings pop up menu and if possible change it to AJAX.
- Less space between Game boxes on the arcade home page (ibp style)

Prune all zero scores from arcade.

you can actually do this userself but yes i believe it would be nice to have more score features

and on a side note can we have a timeline on when features will be implemented? Like maybe show that this feature comes before this one and it will be released with this version. All unofficial that is.

I won't tell any release-date, feature-list or development-timeplan.

I think we all know where this can lead, there are other projects that totally spoiled it doing this ;)


Be sure each release of ibProArcade comes along with good, new and innovative feature and will improve the whole project. Just check the release-history...


ibProArcade v2.5.7+ is in development, the to-do-list is somehow long but will surely be loved by you :cool:

Why do you want to prune all ZERO scores ? The Arcade should not save any (after some small fix in v2.5.7+ ;))



What kind of score-tools or -functions do you want ? Please suggest !

Suggestion 1

Leader board names should have colour tags on them. So say if red is for admin, the admins should be red on the leader board. Same should happen if you are a champion of a certain game.

Suggestion 2

Arcade mod cp should have less tables. The mod notes doesnt need to be in its own table.

The whole mod cp shouldnt have a table background and should just use the forum background to keep it clean and neat.

Suggestion 3

The arcade settings should look like the rest of vbulletin settings. If you have a look at user cp option settings they look very neat, orginised and professional.

Suggestion 4

You shouldnt be able to rate a game from the home page. Instead rate the game after submitting a score.

Suggestion 5

Instead of text for "Add game to fav" maybe use a picture? It should make the arcade home page more attractive.

Suggestion 6

Center the text in the catagory cells. It doesnt look very nice when its to the left whilest the game boxes are all centered ;).

i have a suggestion that was just given to me by one of my mods:

a feature to delete all scores / traces of a user in the arcade from the leaderboard...maybe this can be incorporated
this is useful for big forums

You already can delete all scores of a specific user :)

Enter AdminCP -> Score Tools and search for that user. Then you will see all scores that user did - "mark all" and remove them ...

Only thing missing (and already on to-do-list for next version): also remove the "best results ever" of this user

my Suggestions if they haven't already been said would be:

Suggestion 1:

Allow multiple games in tournements instead of just one

Suggestion 2:

Allows more than 8 players in a tournement, maybe add a box to enter figures into the tournament.

Suggestions 3:

Remove the Enter User ID of person you wish to enter in a tournament and have usernames instead as its much easier.

Suggestion 4:

allow users to rate games even if they don't have a score on that game.

Suggestion 5:

allow games to be put into more than one catagory.

Suggestion 6:

Make the arcades layout even better than it already is, its nice at the moment but i'm sure something could be done to improve it further.

to continue on the tournament features maybe you can have it so you dont need to enter usernames or ids (leaving field blank) and then it will just let members sign up.

Tournament:

1. After you create a tournament, have a link to take you back to the main page - right now, it just loads up the 'create tournament' page again.

2. When creating a tournament, allow the creator the option to 'invite' members to join it.

Invitation is a nice idea :cool:

i dunno if this is already somehow in there, but after someone wins a tournament, maybe a trophy of some sort in their profile, or a tally of how many tournaments that have been won, etc
expanding on the tournament features would be great as it really cranks up the competiveness of people

there already is information about how many tournaments are won in the postbit-info ... :)
