EQDKP - vBulletin Bridge
 

I've been developing a vB plugin for my guild to integrate with EQDKP. I may release it to the public later, but I was wondering what everyone else would be looking for in the integration in terms of features?

users, that's the only thing I may look for. I'm using EQDKP for my guild too. it doesn't actually need to be integrated tho, stand alone is fine for now.

Integration is nice. :)

Ideas:
- Support multi guilds
- Usergroup access to guild lists.

What's your plans ?

Well at the moment, it's just pulling raid info out of the DB for show on news posts. It also integrates with the [item] code to show the item links. Let me show an example.

That is a little tricky depending on how you have your forums and dkp set up. My guild's forums are set up in a way that you are required to register with your main character's name and that only guild members are allowed registration on the forums. I can easily arrange it so that the plugin simply searches the DKP database for a character with the same name as the forums username.

It is still very possible with separate forums and dkp names, however it would require an extra field on the member table for the character name in conjunction with the forums username and would also need a check to make sure that character name exists on the dkp table.

The rest can be easily achieved with a linked query.

I have for years wanted a database list to hold many games to show off stats and findings.

I am an old RPG gammer w/ dice, sheets, mintures and maps. Same when I got a computer on single / multi player RPG's stone age to space age. The timeline did not matter if it was a fun game :).

A online multi game character sheet system would be fun. :)

It hasn't been much of a priority at the moment, my guild just started raiding and i've been working to get everyone geared and what not. I'm still thinking of how to improve it, I just haven't had any time to do so.

What server and side are you on?

I play a Human Priest on Zuluhed.

lol, yeah - they are from the Endless in MxO. :D A whole bunch of them came over to Sargeras when Blizzard opened up server transfers.

As for releasing it, it depends on whether the guy who started this thread is going to release his work.

I've actually decided to take a slightly different approach. Taking inspiriation from John's work, i'm looking into linking user profiles with the user's associated eqdkp entries, and hopefully showing dkp on the user profile pages as well as a dkp listing page within vbulletin.

I'm not talking about a full integration (as I don't see much point in the eqdkp user system aside from dkp management), but I may look into also allowing users to add themselves to the eqdkp site when registering on the vbulletin site. I'm also going to continue to tweak and fine-tune the raid bbcode.

On the side however, i'm going to look into developing an itemstats plugin for the upcoming Wowhead site. If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to mention them on this thread.
