Although it does look better without that damned register pop-up box. Smart move on ditching that. ;) I would suggest to do an alt1 and alt2. The separation between the forums and last poster needs to be a little more pronounced. ;) Looks good from the little I saw. ;) |
^ thanks... i still need to make the hacks work for that template thou...
im waiting for mr ziki to help me wit that.. or maybe anybody.. would like to voluenteer? |
No offense, only thing I liked was the flash intro.
|
With everything being centered, it makes it look really weird. You also need some alternating colors.
Personally... I think it needs a lot of work. You also need to ditch some of those navbars... there's just way too many of them. |
Update...
Added more hacks... |
So you paid ExtremePixels to let you use the images in your skins brand free? and resell them?
|
From experience, you should generally attempt to keep the flow of your website and community together. While I can't see you transitioning vBulletin -> Flash, it would be nice to keep the same general scheme all the way through.
A splash page is nice, though the splash page does nothing when it looks like I am entering a different website once I move from it to the community. The one major issue I saw was the navigation menu. When the menu takes up 25% of a page on a 800x600 resolution (which many still use), then to me, there's a problem. |
Aside from the stealing of extremepixel's graphics.. it does look ok.. but what is the point of displaying a graphic that tels visitors that you are not in the top 100,000 Alexa sites?
|
Okay.. first off all lemme tell ur guys and make this clear
' IM NOT TALKIN ABOUT THE BLACK TEMP I HAVE!!!! IM TALKIN ABOUT THE TEMPLATE THATS LIGHT BLUE!!!!!" AND THATS A CUSTOM template its not from extreme pixels okay? The Alexia ratin.. is for later.. its better to have the hack set up now.. so i dont have to do it later.. cuz im getting like 100plus members a day.. and i havent even had the site for a month.... and wats all this talk of the nav menu??? |
Well, first thing, no need to get upset...we're trying to provide feedback on your style, which is what you originally asked for.
As for the navigation menu, I am speaking of the bit that contains the register, user cp, f.a.q., downloads, vbgarage and arcade links (just to name a few). To me, the menu is too large and takes up too much of the screen. I'd rather not scroll down any more than I have to and when I have to scroll so far on every page visited, it tends to get redundant. |
Okay so wer do u suggest i put it??
Btw.. no offense.. but .. i looked at other forums in the posts... But.. non of them... are even comparable to mine? they dont even have a nice flash home page? Second.. they dont even have the "Torrent Tracker" |
Personally, I think the flash splash is redundant.
Also, getting to the forums is confusing, especially because of the metion of having to pay to access all. I would never use something like that, as it would tend to put off a lot of prospective members. Content (the stuff that people post, and written articles) is king, not a stupid flash of a lingere-clad woman. |
I would agree that the flash screen is redundant not to mention that the loading time won't go down to well with people with slower connections. Don't get me wrong it looks nice But a half naked woman isn't my cup of tea. She has to be naked (that was a joke).
The nav bar area looks terribly cluttered, It's just to busy and taking up to much forum.index space. Colour usage looks bland and would become boring after a minute or two. I've also noticed some custom images which are incorrectly saved in the wrong matte colour resulting in a white jaggy edge surrounding the image. Same goes for the default images which are still present (which ought to be changed for custom image) and some of them are incorrectly saved out to compliment the background colour of the style. Images in the What's Going On? area have also been saved out in the wrong matte colour. Your forum style background is blue, The background to the images is a blackish colour which looks taccy, not to mention it showing a black square border. Looking past the forum.index page there's a lot of default vb images still present which doesn't go down to well when used in conjunction with custom made images. Also, they are incorrectly saved out in the wrong coloured matte. That said, Logo look okay. |
Damn!!! are u done??? lol
WTF.. how come the other damn memberz in this foru that post up there site... with just a regular ol... vbulletin.. background temp. ... get better rating then mines???? I put time and money into my site... wher... the other people.. jus set up there vbulletin.. and plus i have more memembers.. then any of them... in a month then they do... but all i get is complaints here? i dont get it... |

As many said before, i do think that your splash page can be more relevant to the content. As for the style, it is decent (although it is already a premade style). However, the only difference i notice is the inset outset feature. I also think that the navbar could be lessened a great deal and some things can be taken off the top to stop users from having to scroll down so much to view the forums. |
you aren't getting complaints, you are getting criticism like you asked for.
it isn't about the time or money you put into your style or how many members you are getting to your forum. if you want people to be attracted to your site, there are basic rules you should follow. like having an easy navigation. you don't want people getting lost in your site do you? when people look at something and get confused, they'll move on to the next place. i'd critique your theme, but i'm afraid you really don't want to hear it unless someone tells you that it is the sweetest thing ever.......... |

OK...My humor is a bit off today (or am I?). As the previous members stated you did ask for feedback and they've obliged (on this and your previous thread). These members have taken the time to offer you suggestions. Take their comments with an open mind. If they present you with a critique that you don't agree with leave it at that; bashing them is not necessary. In the end, it is your forum so run with it as you desire. |
well i guess... im sorry..
I guess wat im trying to say... is...\ Please join the site.. thank you |
I don't think you have anything to be sorry about. That said, Your best course of action is to take what people have said and implement some of the changes people have kindly suggested. I know my brief preview was constructive (and reviewed from a graphical perspective). 90% of the graphics which have been applied on your forum have been saved out incorrectly (which I stated) and with a mixture of custom made and default graphics being applied on your forum it's only promoting inconsistency.
Anyway, Goodluck with your site. |
Rahstyles let god help I don't kick your ass.You still owe me 400 bucks!
