I hate Allergies !

Well it's finally come....the bluriness in my left eye indicating that my allergies have begun. The vision in my left eye get blurry and about a half hour later a huge migraine hits. It's probably the worst thing about summer....

Anyone else have really bad allergies?

Sometimes I wish I had the sneezing, sniffing, coughing allergies instead of the migraine allergies. :(

TruthElixirX 05-03-2006 07:40 PM

I used to have them, really bad. Last year and this year it just didn't happen. Its like I'm not allergic anymore. O_o

I don't have them but my brother does. Everytime spring starts, his allergy starts too. It sucks too cause his eyes gets all watery and he keeps sneezing and coughing. Sometimes my eyes get watery too just from looking at him sneezing and all, lol.

But what makes his allergy even worse is like when someone cuts grass or if there is any flower or any kind of strong smell, don't know, but it sucks, I feel sorry for those that have this kind of allergy.

Not so much anymore, I reckon all the work outside in the summer cured me of them. ;)

I get them very bad too.... :(

My hayfever has begun :( Itchy eyes, itchy mouth / throat, nosebleeds, allergy to pollen / severe dust :(

Not for me, I end up covered in spots from head to toe if I take them.

Typical, I'm allergic to the anti allergy pills, soI just have to grin and bear it. Luckily they generally are not that bad and only flare up when the grass has been cut.

Nah. My bet is all the 4-wheeling you did. Your allergies just shook right off. :D

Antihistamines do the job for me, but I have some freak condition, which means I have to take one antihistamine pill a day otherwise I start to itch all over :( And swell up in places like my lips, hands, etc :( And that's not during allergy season

Yeah, Claritin is a God-send.

My immune system dies every summer. I feel tired, dizzy and lethargic when the weather gets remotely close to 30-35 degrees. I get hayfever and usually end up rubbing my eyes until they go numb from the rubbing, or my hands do (it's happened). I am a big guy (6'5") so naturally my body sweats in ridiculous amounts. Since I lost all of my excess weight and started to put on muscle, it hasn't been as bad because there isn't as much fat to burn off. But nonetheless, I wish I could just hibernate all through summer.

For those who are allergic to cat hair: do you have the allergy to just cats with long hair, or do you have it for all cats? It's odd, but I am only allergic to cats that have over an inch and a half of hair.

Im allergic to all kinda of cats, but what I've been told is that it's an allergy to do with the dust that the cats fur carries, and not the little critters themselves

Chris M 05-04-2006 04:31 PM

I'm allergic to certain types of dogs, not cats, but the same thing sort of applies - Something to do with the fur and the dust/skin stuff I dunno :p

I haven't had it too bad since my two sinus surguries. This is going to be a bad year for everyone here in California with the excess late rain we had. I am sneezing and stuff, but haven't in a few years.

That could also be a side effect of the sinus/tooth infection I'm going through.

I may go over ours when I go around with the Hoover then. They won't look too pretty though :)

I have hayfever, but thats about it. Last spring my hayfever changed - instead of giving me runny nose, eyes, sneezing etc. I actually had trouble breathing. The hayfever tightened my airways and I had to go on this inhaler thing for the whole of spring basically. Hated it. >_<

Blam Forumz 05-05-2006 11:22 AM

Tony, that sounds to me like asthma, not hayfever =/

No, that's alergy asthma. Whole different thing with a different type of inhaler, usually Flovent. Temporary thing that happens to many during a heavy allergy year.

No it wasn't asthma. I saw a doctor about it. He said due to my hayfever it was constricting my airways, but nowhere near as bad as a normal asthmatic. As JumpD said, I used a different inhaler to a normal asthmatic. It was a powder inhaler, only had to use it twice a day. I was taking some tablets too for about 5 days when it wasn't going away. As soon as summer came, no more.

Blam Forumz 05-06-2006 06:58 AM

Ah, that's good to hear then :)
