Zia 04-29-2006 02:38 AM

hello..

really nice...love it..

any way to intigrate with "AutoMatic Wellcome Thread"..
we have installed auto wellcome thread hack, using this quick reg. will auto wellcome thread work?

RDX1 04-29-2006 03:17 AM

I've never heard of that? Quick Register works just like register.php so I'm sure it'll work. Install and try it out, if it doesn't work uninstall it.

Deska 04-29-2006 06:43 AM

[high]* Deska will click install when image verification version released :)[/high]

PixelFx 04-29-2006 08:24 AM

You would have to do that yourself. Just look at register.php and copy the output to the quick regsiter template.

Here's a sample from my register.php for location...

Code:

<input type="text" class="bginput" name="userfield[field2]" id="ctb_field2" value="" size="25" maxlength="20" />
So not very hard.

Snake 04-29-2006 12:07 PM

Bingo! Just what I have been looking for. :)

Wachtmeister 04-29-2006 03:21 PM

Nice thing.

Is there a chance, to get this plugin with phrases, so i can translate it for my users?

VaaKo 04-29-2006 03:30 PM

/me clicks install

Mr Chad 04-29-2006 05:19 PM

thanks :)

This will be perfect for my new register system. (it will also freat people out instantly)

Mr Chad 04-29-2006 06:11 PM

works great :), except you havent added the image verification. (so i have to turn it off)

moley 04-29-2006 08:13 PM

thanks a lot seems like a great plugin

Mr Chad 04-29-2006 08:49 PM

umm, is it possible to add the "add avatar by link" to this registration process?

im intregrating my site with myspace, so when people get a link from me to register, it will automaticly grab their profile picture link @ myspace, and create an avatar at the forums.

Sooner95 04-30-2006 03:52 AM

thx!

ubblite 04-30-2006 04:00 AM

Is there a way to set a minimum age requirement with the "Quick Register Age" plug-in version?

Mr Chad 04-30-2006 01:29 PM

also it doesnt auto login like the normal registration process

also is there a way to make it appear on the vbadvanced page? and photopost page?

mat64 04-30-2006 02:31 PM

Wow love it, Might give it ago later on.

0ptima 04-30-2006 03:55 PM

This is a great hack and I will probably use it on my next project. The only thing that I think should be changed is the link to the forum rules as when you click on it, it takes you to the standard VB pre-signup page. Instead, could you add an option to make the rules (only the rules in scroll box)popup in a new window?

akanevsky 04-30-2006 04:09 PM

You should add image verification to this, else there may be automated registrations which you don't want.

RDX1 04-30-2006 09:00 PM

My next release will probably include image verification and phrases, not ETA on when this version will be released as I'm working on starting up my new business

It goes off the normal register.php so if you have any kind of mininum age set in the ACP it will go by that.

I don't understand what you are talking about, you would have to do this yourself.

I know, I've just been a bit busy to try working on it. I've started a new business and I'm working on getting it started.

I'll see what I can do, I'll look at the templates.

Have you tried editing the templates with the $phrase? I don't use either so I have no way of testing to see what would work.

I'll see what I can do in the next release.

Dr.Viggy 04-30-2006 11:11 PM

awesome. works like a charm. *installed*

RDX1 04-30-2006 11:12 PM

Thanks, I have edited the plugin to include phrases. I'll work on image verification and then release 1.1

RDX1 05-01-2006 12:58 AM

1.1.0 is released. It includes phrases instead of plain text in the templates.

No image verification for now, it will be harder then I thought.

mrahul 05-02-2006 05:56 AM

would be great if image verification is also included. which makes my life better from the bots

RDX1 05-02-2006 07:06 AM

I've been having problems with image verification, I'll need to do some work before it's included. Plus it would be quite annoying to have a huge image verification box on every page.

Mr Chad 05-02-2006 09:20 PM

Cant wait :)

awesome hack - job well done.

Some boards do, I don't bother with it personally.

offsidex 05-03-2006 08:42 AM

this might sound like a stupid question but when my visitors try to register using the quick register plugin they get an error message telling them that You have entered an invalid birthday... any help would be much appreciated.

cheers

|oR|Greg 05-03-2006 12:59 PM

Anyone that wants to add this to the vBAdvanced home page

AdminCP > vbaCMPS > Default Settings > Portal Output Global Variables

add:

quickregisterage

or

quickregister

Depending on which one you installed.

|oR|Greg 05-03-2006 01:07 PM

I just noticed on my board in the quickregisterage version the added phrase "quickregisterage_rules" is left empty, I had to copy the text from the template version into the phrase, however the phrase is broken in some way and won't allow itself to take any new text. So, I created a new phrase called "quickregisterage_rules2" and added the following to it, then changed the template accordingly.

Code:

Check to Agree with <a href="http://www.limmac.org/vb/register.php?">forum rules</a>
I hardcoded the address because the [bburl] variable doesn't play nicely with vBa, so it was causing issues.

Here's a screen shot of the updated template with the new phrase.

RDX1 05-03-2006 07:25 PM

I see what the problem is for the birtday version as far as the rules go. I'll fix it and release the new version fixing the problem in a few minutes.

offsidex 05-03-2006 08:25 PM

that would great RDX1 thanks for your work much appreciated.

0ptima 05-03-2006 10:48 PM

RDX1, can you try and add the froum rules to a popup ? Thanks

RDX1 05-04-2006 09:59 AM

When I have time I will try. I am starting up my business and that is more important to me.
