What a load of @#$%!
Ok, well...I haven't brushed up on my Russian lately, but can someone tell me wtf this site is? It looks to me like a site that distributes vBulletin nulled versions and our hacks here. There was even a "hack request thread" where people request hacks (pirates I assume) and those with licenses come over here and post them over there.
I know its "overseas" and maybe protected due to that, but if what I am seeing is true, is there anything that can be done? <link removed> |
Not without the mafia. :D
Shh...They don't exists. ;) |
Report it directly to vB i'd say
|
I think you may need to remove the site's link, Stangsta.

Yep. And all the nitwits who are willing to share our mods in exchange for download credits at a warez site can read it. ;) Board policy is to not post such links.
|
I got rid of the link. :)
|
board policy should be that you can unmask these pirate sites where they are clearly breaking vBulletin.org rules
I understand policy, I run my own club. But in the end it doesn't seem fair that people can break the rules, then be protected |
They are just one of hundreds, if not thousands, of sites that distribute material stolen from here and many others. Not much can be done to stop it, you get one shut down and 10 pop up in it's place...just a fact of life in the world we live.

Report them to Jelsoft and move on. It's all you can do. |
I'm sorry but in my opinion, showing the links to users on vb.org (especially coders who's hacks are being redistributed) would be the least that can be done. Inserting the link in a [code] tag, would make it only viewable to licensed users. Why does it matter if licensed users know about warez sites considering they already have access to all of those things regardless?
I'm sure that if your hacks were being redistributed, you'd like to know. |
Given what Amy said, quite a few here that lurk and simply download probably are pirates and giving them yet another resource to pinch from isn't what Jelsoft or the administrators/staff here at vBulletin.org would like to do.
While they can just as easily download from here as they can elsewhere, we don't want to give them yet another resource they can head over to and download from by providing an open link; within the code tags or not. The best thing to do in ANY case is simply report the link and let them deal with it. Posting the links in the open, be it to licensed members or otherwise, honestly doesn't do any good and just ends up having another staff member or user report it. If you've already reported it, there's no need to post about it. If Jelsoft deems it a pirating website, it will be dealt with accordingly. |
I see this stuff on the newsgroups all the time.
|
vBulletin.org Policy is for you to report the links to vBulletin via the Piracy Form; Please refrain from posting links for many of the aforementioned reasons, and others :)
