Google made all worse!

I had 43.000 indexed pages and 50.000 unique visitors per month a few days ago. But now, On google I have only 1000 pages majority of which are too old. (about 1 year!)

Now I have very few visitors as you can guess.

Is there any similar occasion you have/had.

Is this situation temprorary?

Please help!

Mine still looks the same too. :)

A lot of people are having similar problems. Google has been wonky since February. Wonky, for the record, is a technical term. ;)

Well, my results went down about 10,000 as well. Hopefully it's just a temporary thing.

The info above is really irrelevant.

What you need to read is this...
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/33893.htm

and this...
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/34055.htm

Basically, Google has changed EVERYTHING when it comes to how it spiders and indexes your site. So far, not too many people are happy.

I can tell you that I had 200,000+ pages in the index and now I have 180.

Luckily, I am still on page one when searching my main keyword. I have not seen a traffic decline at all believe it or not.

There are rumors of some of the pages coming back but, I'd keep an eye and ear out.

I'll second that. I'm a software engineer. Wonky and "borked" are probably in the top ten most used words on my team.

Erwin 04-30-2006 01:18 AM

Google improved the number of pages for my site - is well over a million pages now.

We were always high on page 1 of any Google search relating to Volvo cars, but now we are nowhere. The strange thing is that this happened exactly on May 1. We're OK on Yahoo and our Alexa rating is still around 108,000.

I visit a couple of ecommerce support sites and some owners of online commerce are pulling their hair out as their sales have dropped drastically.

Does anyone know what exactly has changed to cause this. What is Google now looking for to get high positions?

Bob

This may be of interest to folks whose pages are "falling out of the index"...

This makes worrying reading. I have dynamic text ad links in the footer file for all our 1000's of pages, and having read this I am wondering if this is what Google does not now like on our site. With a revenue of ?300pcm from this I have to make a decision.

Bob
