Administrative Injustice!
I believe, vb.org members are allowed to create threads about their new sites when they create one - whether if they want to receive feedback, or if they just want to let people know. When I created such thread... It was deleted by an admin for the reason of "Self-Promotion". The reality is, there was no self-promotion whatsoever in the post.
When I requested explanation from the administrator, I received no reply. Therefore, I'm creating this thread, and I'd appreciate it if someone explains what's going on. Thank you for your attention. |
I knew posting mine would probably get deleted so I just didn’t bother. I don’t have a problem, stops a lot of spam.
Thanks, Mat |
It's against the rules of this site, that's why your post was deleted. The rule is in place to prevent this site from getting spammed with posts of people wanting to create traffic for their own site. If you want that rule changed, feel free to contact Jelsoft. From our point of view, we think it's a good rule, and most forum admins would agree.

P.S. You can still post a link to your new site in the Forum Commenting forum. :) That's allowed and that's the purpose of that forum.
|
What about websites about vBulletin but not running vBulletin forum?
Thanks, Mat |

That's a good question and we don't have a specific policy on that. In the past, we've allowed members who want to ask about a general design question of their non-vB site.

Sorry, I meant Forum Commenting. Site Feedback is this forum!!!
|
Oh. Well, my site is vbulletin modification oriented. Can I post the message in Forum Commenting?
|
I'm pretty sure that sig exceeds a rule or two ;)

Unless you can point out the part that fits the criteria of "promotional language", the signature does not break any rules. Quote:
I am just wondering what's the reason for the other administrator not being able to tell me that? :( |

Your sig is fine since it does not have promotional language. We want to support the coders here and if they want to tell others of their service that is fine as far as I'm concerned, as long as it's not coached in promotional language. |

Paul, please let the staff deal with such things. If you want to report or point out something please send a staff member a PM.
This issue at hand has been dealt with, so I am closing this thread. |
