vbPortal Users - Must Read!!
This hack is NOT compatible with vbPortal.
It has come to my attention that vbPortal uses a table named vbp_option, therefore it will conflict with the table that vbPlaza uses for its options in the vbPlaza. I'll probably end up changing the name of this table in the future to something like vbp_plazaoption inside of the install to avoid this in the future, but for now do not install vbPlaza as it will not install properly. -CMX |
Thanks for this information.
I will wait for the fixed version, I hope that it will be released soon. |
I already have this installed with vbportal and all is working other then the points arent showing up in the postbits.

okay does that mean vbadvance lol?? can i just use it if i don't add the page integration? mine seems to work fine except for the jackpot...
no vbPortal must be something different.... |

I checked the complete zip (xml & php) file and changed all references to vbp_option in vbp_plazaoption. After this I had installed it and everything works fine.

I have had it installed with vBPortal since day 1 and have had no problems.
My vBPortal was actually installed by the people at vBPortal, too. |

Here is a 1.5.6 with all instances of vbp_option replaced with vbp_plazaoption.
I felt something should be made in veiw of the security issue 1.5.6 fixes for those who maybe using magicmouses contribution above. Please note: I do not currently run this hack myself. I have done a mass replace command accross all files for the above but have not tested it. I suggest you test on a test installation first. This is not any kind of official update by me, its just to help out those who maybe using magicmouses vbportal fixed version and concerned now about security. If your a vbportal user and have not installed vbBux/vbPlaza yet, you would probably be better to wait for CMX's official update to address this issue. Either way installing this is at your risk, so remember test first, backup backup backup before trying it live. I cannot provide support for this either but you are free to try it out and give feedback. |
Any idea when we are going to see a official update? My users have been waiting for over 2 months now :(
|
Soon, I'll try and squeeze this in for v1.5.7, but no promises, it might have to wait until v1.5.8

Sounds good. My users are freaking out about this lol. They love the cash system!

The official release of v1.5.7 will fix the compatibility issue with vbPortal.
It should be released by the end of the week. -CMX |
We at phpPortals appreciate the compatibility fix, there are a lot of our users that would like to use this addon.
If not done in this new version, I would suggest that a future version be worked out eliminating the 'vbp_ ' (vbportal) prefix altogether as there are still potential future problems. The 'vbp_' prefix has been in use for 4 or 5 years and many hacks have been created, as will be the case in the future. The likely hood that someone creating a new table using that prefix is very high and it could cause another compatibility issue. We would be very happy to help you with this if needed, just drop me a message using the contact us link at phpPortals.com or PM me there or here. |

15) vbp_X tables are renamed to vbplaza_X so it will not conflict with vbPortal anymore. I am sure this will make many people very happy, the effort you put to this hack and especially this big change after the last from the unfortunate first choice in the eNameS is and will be appreciated greatly by vbPortal members who should now be able to run both vbportal and vbBux/vbPlaza with confidence of no future potential mysql clashes, and will also save the staff and supporters of both these excellent products many future headaches and headscratching. :) |
Does this work with vbulletin 3.6.4 AND vbportal 3.6.2?
I installed it, and things look normal, however my quick reply now times out when users try to post. The posts get sent to the appropriate forum, but you have to cancel and refresh your browser after each quick reply. This happened immediately after installation. Ideas appreciated? |
