vbseo
i know that there is a site for this, but i thought i would ask members here, who don't work for vbseo :) but use it, what they think of it.....
wanting to know your likes, and if possible your dislikes (other then cost) and if you have had any issues with it at all :) thanks |
Do a search for it here at vb.org. Been already a few threads discussing this, and mostly these threads heat up between Fans/Haters.
|
This thread has been made 1000 times already, and usually gets shut down but quickly I'll give u my pro's and con's
pro's search engines love it,, you'll have spiders on your site 24/7 if you have new post each day easy to install,, takes all of 10 seconds, then maybe 5 mins to configure it to your liking Great support at vbseo.comm if the staff doesn't answer your question or problem your having, they have what looks like a large team that surly can help you out. cool looking URL's :D I haven't seen any other vb products that vbseo wont work with... con's the price seems high, but in comparison to having a professional SEO programmer to re work your site, your looking at 3 - 5 grand for a site, from what I've researched. banding - this is said to be offered soon, next month, no copyright that's it.. :) |
ok thanks guys, don't want to start up any heated threads :)

You should be aware that vbseo will require a decoder to work on your server. This also means the source code is hidden. You won't be able to hire someone to come in and de-bug/port the script in the future due to the nature of the software. As long as the vbseo team remains active this should not be much of a problem for you, but still it's something you need to consider before you decide to buy their script.
There are also free solutions posted on the forum, you should look into them and see if they will work for your needs. |

I don't suggest using anything but vBSEO.. I'd use vb default over any of the "free" versions.
There is a big bug with mod_rewrite that many don't know about but there can be huge amounts of duplicate content made. to edit the copyright, you look at the config_vbseo in the includes folder ( go figure :p ) Code:
// ****** COPYRIGHT NOTICE ****** |

|
You can place <!--VBSEO_COPYRIGHT--> anywhere in your template and wrap a DIV around it to change the font/etc.
Though, you really should probably continue this question on vbseo.com, where the official support is. ;) Also, you should upgrade to RC8. RC3 is quite outdated. |
I have one simple questing mine host have no zend installed , can i use seo? if yes then i wil buy vbseo

Simple fact: You get what you pay for.
Is it expensive? Well, expensive is relative. However, yes -- it is a bit towards the other end of the price scale. It's not a question of price, really -- if you're serious about SEO, it's a question of value. Simply put, ask yourself if you'll return a yield on your investment. If not, then vBSEO isn't for you. When I took the plunge and purchased vBSEO, I was a bit hesitant because all I saw was the cost. However, after reading the success stories I decided to give it a try. Within 2 months, I had already paid for vBSEO twice over (and since then -- heh, let's just say I feel like an idiot for not purchasing it sooner!) So in my case, it was worth it. You just need to sit back and decide if you need vBSEO, or if you want it. |

mine host say this: We do not use zend optimizer and do unfortunately not offer to change our server configuration. There is Zend ENGINE v. 1.3 on the server. There is Zend ENGINE v. 1.3 on the server Is that good enoug for vbseo? Thanks already :) |
There is no need for Zend Optimiser (but 99% have that installed) for vBSEO, you will need Zend Encoder.

There is 1 thing about any "SEO-Solution" that is often forgotten:
Obviously links from SE's are very important to you, otherwise you would not even consider purchasing a script to assist with it. You should however always keep in mind that once you make the choice to go this way (no matter which solution) you have committed yourself to a mariage "for good and bad times, until death do us part". If you for any reason are not satisfied (anymore), you need to change product because it will not work anymore with a new vBulletin version, or any other reason, you will loose all your links that you have spend so much time on, unless you find a new product that will produce the exact same links to your content. |
Not true. WIth some simple .htaccess rules, all the links can be 301 redirected to the original vBulletin style URLs if you ever wanted to go back to "plain" vBulletin.
