Be very careful. There is a fine line when it comes to violating the license :(
You need to be certain that there is never any question that it is all the same site. Whether it is just keeping the same site name on the header or what have ya. If this was combined with a style change per forum that changed the header, it could easily look like completely different sites.. then you'd have the vb team all over ya. Great idea! Great hack! Just be careful how ya use it :) |
thanx for the advice
|
The vB team aren't witch hunters. I say good job and thank you. The vB team has means of seeing if there is a problem, and they are going to open dialogue first before they shoot.
|
I have been using something like this on my forums for awhile now. Except it has users online, total posts, most ever online for that area only. You might want to add that to yours.
|
just having the same forum split to show different pages is not that bad............at least so do i think........
i find it a great idea |
This is amazing and just what I need.
|
I am a little baffled as to what this is all about?
Can we have some sort of description please |
Anybody can give me a link for testing it out, thanks.
|
I dont really get it to be honest...Isnt the point of subforms for a section/category the same thing?
If possible could you link us to test this out in a live demo? |
Man I'm definitely gonna install this! :D
|
wow, this really is amazing and I will definaetly check this out ;)
|
please check the attached pics again!!
iev updated them |
thanks
|
this is like perfect for multi sections of the site, like mine, I will definaetly install this tommorow ;)
|
It's great, something I've been trying to achieve through template conditionals for an age.
|
Hm, this might be a violation of the vB license agreements.
I will wait to install this, but when it proofs to be okay I might have use for this. ;) |

Assuming it's within vB licence of course... :) |
I think it was a really cool idea that you had in mind when creating this, but I'm afraid it's more confusing to members than it is helpful.
|
AWESOME. This is the answer to my dilemma. Thanks.
|
Oh yea
keep the ideas comming n ill be releasing update soon! |
if anyone installs please post a link I would like to see it in action
I made my site 2 pages using a diffrent hack but I rather try this if it works better page 1 >>> http://www.djjeffa.com/vb/index.php page 2 >>> http://www.djjeffa.com/vb/index.php?&page=2 |
I'll check this out soon,
/me clicks install |
clicked install thanks
|
Ok found a bug if you have the additional breadcrumb bar at the bottom....
http://www.gsnforce.com/forum/showth...0285#post10285 look at the bottom it has the forum name and it has a blank option behind it. |
Ok I had to disable this because you can't click the forum to go back into the forum. It disabls the link to go back into the forum.
|
hm, i uninstalled this just after installing, and it seems my forums are set the as the hack is ? i don't have index links anywhere now :(
so now I'll re install and this link i'm pointing at is wrong.. it's like locoforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php? and it should be locoforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25 |
@RasMasta
@Loco.M Use the header to go back to the index page!, if i add the index link its not multi forum any more @RasMasta a screen shot would be more helpful to get n fix the bug @Loco.M its working fine here which version are you using |

Hi, this was the exact modification I was looking for. However, I was wondering if I could make it so it only affects a certain specified forum, rather then making it affect them globally.
So basically I want forumdisplay.php?f=422 to look like the forumindex however I do not want anything other then 422 to look different. Thanks. |
