weird avatars problem!
The members on my board keep complaining that they upload animated avatars but the avatar is static...
any guess? |
Usergroup permissions?
Permissions are set correctly, they upload the avatar but instead of animated is static.
In your usergroup settings, are they allowed to upload animated user pics?
yes :( but still a problem
Show us an example of a user who said they uploaded an animated gif that isn't animated. It might help to diagnose the problem.
By any chance did you change the perms to allow animated avatars after the user had uploaded the image? If so, try uploading a fresh one.
i got he same problem i tred reuploadin it and still the same problem
Check permissions for each usergroup allow animated avatars. I've taken a look at your members list, andon the first page I can see an animated one, so it is obviously working for at least some people, which leads me to believe that it is the usergroup permissions that are the problem.

An old issue I know, but I had the same problem and just fixed it.
The problem was that under user settings it was setup to change the size of the avatar to fit the required dimensions. When it does this it loses the animation effect. Change the option to not resize, and then reupload the avatar. |
GD does not support animated images well, ImageMagick does do a slightly better job.
I am having this issue as well. Why can't this resize the gifs and retain the animation like other bulletin software?
GD does not have support for animated avatars, period. If you choose to use ImageMagick then you could.
