Sorry guys - forgot to Cache the templates ;) |
Nice hack :)
And isn't there an hook location between navbar and forums? Then it could be a product without template modifications :) |

Always looking into ways to make it easier to install ;) |
Nice mod m8, will install... thx
|
I like it, installed :)
|
nice hack, installed.
feature suggestions: ability to use/store several messages add slot machine type scrolling so that when used in conjunction with the above feature it would rotate between one message and another by flipping up. ability to point the hack to a forum/s to pull the latest threads from it ability to turn it off by usergroups |
As a devoted follower of Marky, I guess I'll install this too! :)
|
It's good. But, I have a suggestion.
I think it's hard to read the marquee, especially when you run your screen resolution high as I do. It doesn't scroll across the screen smoothly, and you can't stop it by mousing over it. Might I suggest some way to stop the scroll when you mouse over it, or, enable some way to adjust the speed? The slot machine effect mentioned above is a good suggestion also. Nice work. rich |
How does this hack differ from the Global Anouncement? It's bacicly the same but just in a different location?
Great Hacks by the way |
I like this. XD Simply for the fact I can do cheesy "State of Emergency" messages when I'm updating the site...

I'll include it in the update ;) |
You know, this really is a good addition. I needed this.
It's clear, why: http://www.russbo.org/vb/index.php?styleid=3 Thanks! |
How can i slow down the scroll?
|
Thanks Marky
I stripped it down to the bare necessities. I agree about the scrolling needing some work, it moves about 60mph across my board. |
Any idea how to make it stretch across the screen instead of breaking so early?
Great hack btw!! Thanks!! |
feature suggestions:
- add slot machine type scrolling for news by forums. |

click save and reload............ the only change that i made was: scrolldelay="120" this is what will control your speed, you can change to your specific need's, but i think 120 is perfect.........Increase the number to slow down the scroll.........try inserting 140.........ect. I hope it was okay for me to post this, please delete if not...........thanks, hotwheels |

|
Great hack! I made a few changes you may want to include.
I added the mouse over, speed control different then above and added height because I use it scrolling up. This is in the "menualert" Template. Code:
<!-- Alert Menu Content --> |
Any way to change it so the size of it adjusts depending on what the users resolution is?
|
Cheers for this...looks cool but,
Its too wide on my forum, how can i make it a little shorter please? |
Thanks for this! Nice and neat.

Hi m8
You need to edit the text in red (ok so red shows green pmsl) :) me sorted mine <marquee direction="{$vboptions['alert_menu_marquee_direction']}" width="820" scrollAmount="1" height="14" onMouseover="this.scrollAmount=0" Quote:

*Menu Alert Updated to 1.1*
In this version you can now edit the width of your marquee and change the speed of it completely Admin Controlled. Also, there is no need for template edits in the upgrade. Just Upload the new product and edit the new options available in the admin CP. Thanks, Marky |
Upgraded...working oK thanks...
