Paypal Module (dropdown) On vBa CMPS

This is fairly simple to install ill post the code incase the module dont work. but before i go any further i would like to thank derekivey for helping me out on this... so here is a image to show you how it looks... and i am trying to explain this as best as i can and make it as simple as i can... keep in mind you can change the image by going to paypal and chose another one of there images

make a new template named it adv_portal_paypal
and in that template add this code...

Code:

<tr>
 <td class="$bgclass">
<div align="center"><span class="smallfont">If You Like This Website, And Would Like To Give Something In Return, You Can Make A Donation. Your Donation Will Be Used To Pay For Hosting Service, Domain, And Maintenance Costs Only!</span></div>
<br />
<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" target="_blank" method="post">
  <div align="center">
  <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick" />
  <input type="hidden" name="business" value="youremail@whatever.com" />
  <input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="Website Support Donation" />
  <input type="hidden" name="no_note" value="1" />
  <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD" />
  <input type="hidden" name="tax" value="0" />
    $
  <select name="amount">
    <option value="1.00">1.00</option>
    <option value="2.00">2.00</option>
    <option value="3.00">3.00</option>
    <option value="4.00">4.00</option>
    <option value="5.00">5.00</option>
    <option value="10.00">10.00</option>
    <option value="20.00">20.00</option>
    <option value="25.00">25.00</option>
    <option value="50.00">50.00</option>
    <option value="100.00">100.00</option>
  </select>
  </div>
<br />
<br />
<div align="center"><span class="smallfont">Select Your Donation Amount And Then Press The Donate Button.</span></div>
<br />
<fieldset class="fieldset" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0px">
<br />
  <div align="center"><input type="image" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/x-click-butcc-donate.gif" alt="Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!" /><br /><br /></div></fieldset>
  </form>
  </td>
</tr>

in the code make sure you change youremail@whatever.com to your email...

then add a module, you want to add a Template Module

and in the module settings add this

Module Title: Donations
Template to Include: adv_portal_paypal
Use Module Shell Template : yes
Title Row Colspan: 1
and set your Usergroups to what ever you want

hope this helps and if any one wants to edit the code or make it easier to install feel free.

it is 100% html complaint. please let me know if you have any problems

*******************
3/12/05
changed the code a bit also made a module where they can input the donation amount...

New Module Code
*******************

Code:

<tr>
 <td class="$bgclass">
<div align="center"><span class="smallfont">If You Like This Website, And Would Like To Give Something In Return, You Can Make A Donation. Your Donation Will Be Used To Pay For Hosting Service, Domain, And Maintenance Costs Only!</span></div>
<br />
<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" target="_blank" method="post">
  <div align="center">$
  <input type="text" name="amount" size="6" value="5.00" />
  <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick" />
  <input type="hidden" name="business" value="youremail@whatever.com" />
  <input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="Website Support Donation" />
  <input type="hidden" name="no_note" value="1" />
  <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD" />
  <input type="hidden" name="tax" value="0" />
  </div>
<br />
<br />
<div align="center"><span class="smallfont">Select Your Donation Amount And Then Press The Donate Button.</span></div>
<br />
<fieldset class="fieldset" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0px">
<br />

  </form>
  </td>

very nice, just remember paypal prob takes 88c canadian not sure what it is for transactions for us .. so $1 might be a bit low for people that put it in, otherwise hella cool clicks install

DementedMindz 01-14-2006 08:23 AM

yeah its real easy to edit the amount you could just chose <option value="1.00">1.00</option> and select which ever amount you wish and change the <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="CAD">

uhh how do i add a new template or watever? sorry im sitll a nooby 2 vbulletin
like can sum 1 tell me wat 2 goto in my admin options step by step for me please?

Thanks

DementedMindz 01-19-2006 04:18 PM

did you try the zip file with the module already in it.... if not go to Styles & Templates and then from there goto Style Manager and from there open it up in the drop down goto Add New Template and thats where you would add the code but like i said try the moduler first in the zip and then you can always go back and edit the template... also make sure you click install :)

fonzie11 01-19-2006 05:26 PM

how do i add the module

PixelFx 01-19-2006 07:48 PM

fonzie11 ->
you need vbadvanced cmps 2.0.0 installed with vbulletin, link here
http://www.vbadvanced.com/products.p...roductinfo&p=4

then once that is installed, follow the help on that site for making and or adding modules, then follow the informaton above, to instal the paypal mod.

fonzie11 01-20-2006 02:19 AM

is there any way i can do it without installin that?

DementedMindz 01-20-2006 05:14 PM

in admin goto vBa CMPS then from there goto Download / Upload Module and it will open the module page from there browse for the module on your computer... select which side you want it on and the Display Order and your other settings on that page ... once thats done goto edit templates and change the email to yours... thats it

fonzie11 01-20-2006 05:48 PM

i dont have vba cmps?

DementedMindz 01-20-2006 05:51 PM

well you can always download it and install it its free and its a nice system...

DruidToolz 01-20-2006 06:58 PM

yeah but what if someone doesn't want to add vba to there forum and just want to install the paypal module

how would someone would be able to do that...

DementedMindz 01-20-2006 08:24 PM

well like the title of the mod says Paypal Module (dropdown) On vBa CMPS so it only works on a module for vBa CMPS so far that ive tested it on... i may work on one for vbulletin once i get my test site up but this is for vBa CMPS...

Guest210212002 01-20-2006 09:13 PM

If you're running vBAdvanced and don't know how to add modules, it'd do you lots of good to have a look at the documentation on their site. Everything's explained pretty clearly.

They'd start a new thread asking how instead of cluttering up this mod thread with requests that have nothing to do with CMPS.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but this is a mod for "Paypal Module on vBa CMPS". If you aren't running CMPS, it doesn't concern you.

This is what I added to my navbar 2 template. You don't need CMPS for this paypal to work. All the credit goes to DementedMindz really, I just tweaked it a little. DementedMindz, if it's not cool then tell me and I'll take this down. Don't forget to change the your@site.com to your real paypal email address.

Trickle do you have any screen shots of it? also i would never tell you to take it down cause anything to help out everyone is fine by me :)

Trickle 03-14-2006 04:17 PM

I've attached 2 pics, one where the hack is actually on my CMPS page and the second I went to the arcade page to demonstrate how I can still donate by clicking on the donate button on my second navbar at the top right. Even if you don't use a second navbar you can still use your code and place in on the original navbar.

Tell me what you want on your navbar like home, memberslist..... and I'll put the donate in for you. Is this going on the original navbar or do you have a second navbar as well?
