Welcome Messages For Archive

First PHP hack for me, i don't know it too well at all but ill try to support it as well as possible.

Version: 1.0.0

This is confimed to work with 3.6 BETA1 and will therefore not be updated.

This hack adds a welcome message to your forum archive which displays only to guests, it also displays a message asking users to conform their account if they have still to do so.

1 Product to install:
Contains 1 Plugin

This hack is designed to use the same phrases as the Welcome Headers Hack

If you do not have it installed then there is an extra phrase to add..

Update
0.90 to 1.0.0 - Just re-upload the product with overwrite on

Notice: 3.5.4 Changes

Quote:

Implementational changes: Archive

The output generated by the Archive is now buffered before being sent to the client. Plugins for the Archive that generate output must be adapted in order to work correctly.
I have checked this and this hack is functions properly and there are no problems

Huge thanks to Oblivion Knight who fixed the problem with parsing the {3} in phrases

Enjoy

this looks like an awesome hack, wonderful :)

on the welcome part is shows

Welcome to the %3$s forums. and that group of symbols also shows up at the end of the links in there too.

diettalk 01-10-2006 11:06 PM

I get this as well. The phrase is correct on the forums but shows up wrong on the archives.

Hmm The phrase uses {3} to find the board name...
Ill see if I can figure out an alternative..

The 1st is to replace {3} in first_visit_message with your board name

m_k 02-13-2006 07:55 PM

anyone figured out a fix for this yet?

Impreza04 02-13-2006 08:22 PM

Unfortunatly without altering the phrase, i can't..
It works perfectly thoug if you take out {3} with your board name

Reeve of shinra 02-13-2006 08:24 PM

Good hack I was getting ready to do my own version of this!

ok replaced the {3} with the board name, but still had trouble with the {2} further down, and the email support link didn't work either

solved this by replacing {2} with:

PHP Code:

http://mysite.com/forum/register.php

and using the URL again for the support link:

PHP Code:

http://mysite.com/forum/sendmessage.php

works great now btw :-)

here's the whole thing (working great so far):

PHP Code:

For some reason, nothing shows up in my archive when I install this. Could this be conflicing with the adsense in archive hack by Amy?

Impreza04 03-04-2006 07:54 PM

If its http://www.shinraonline.com you've installed it on, I can see it just fine...

Reeve of shinra 03-04-2006 08:07 PM

Doh stupid mistake on my part... I was logged in while viewing this and it didn't click. Sorry about that and thank you for the hack.
