Ideas for my new site!
 

I am starting a greek site dedicated to cats and I'd like some ideas about it! :D
I have made the theme already but unfortunately I can't show you as I haven't bought a 2nd license yet (I will buy it when the site is finished).
Also, is there a way I get a 2nd license cheaper cause I already own one?
I also need a reviews script (for cat products, vets, cat breeds etc). Which one would you recommend?

I don't think you can get a discount on your second license; it starts getting cheaper on your 3rd. For reviews, I bought Geek Article and Review System, which is very good. I think Cinq's releasing a free alternative, but apparently it will be months before that is released.

It's mostly not vBulletin nexialsys. I just asked about the license but it wasn't my main question. The main question is ideas for my new site, which is not vb related. In your opinion where should I put it? :)

Neofreaks isn't these just for articles? Is GARS good enough for reviews?

You could always keep your ears open to a person selling there owned license second hand. That would be cheaper way of getting a second license

I've always kept cats. But I don't know, maybe have sections for different cat breeds

I prefer not to promote cat breeds too much, I think reviews are enough. I prefer to promote mostly stray cats as in Greece there are many stray cats and dogs and there is much need for them to find a home cause the longer they stay out in the streers, the bigger the chance they have to get killed by a car or a mean person that tries to poison them (we have many of those too in Greece :mad: ).
I've recently got one that some people had collected from the street and cured (it had something in it's feet. A part from it's tail is also missing, poor cat :(). You can see him in my profile. I named it Vector :)

You could always be a Miss Bob Barker for the Greeks and try and promote the spaying and neutering of your pets. You can do this by providing a forum dedicated to low cost Vets that can facilitate this. Users can make other users aware of Vets they use and/or deals they know of. For example there are Vets around here that will spay for free ect.

Another good idea would be to set up a forum for those who have animals they need to find a home for. This could save cats ect from going to the streets.

Good idea would be another forum like the Vet forum but for deals that may be going on with online retailers or local retailers that sell cat products.

Members can use the article section for reveiws of products ect.

There was a big clean up for all these stray animals during the olympics but as other things it was just temporary. Greece showed a face that wasn't real in the Olympics. Now that everything is back to normal I've started missing it, although it was fake :(

PS: I never post pictures of me in the net since a member in my forum took my head and put it in a Mona Liza painting with Paint Shop pro, lol :p

Also, if you get some traffic going, make a deal with a local vet to advertise them in exchange for have a ask a vet forum where they will give simple advice to others.

There was a vbpetz hack maybe it will be out soon for 3.5, also I would integrate a gallery where people can upload cats images. Good luck with your new site.

I am not sure if it is ready but a glossary on pets may be a good addition for your site.

You would best getting a Vet from an online retailer,BUT they have to be credible. Would be like a " Ask Dr. Corrie" forum. There may be people around Greece however that would love to help the cause to facilitate this. Whoever would do it would get the best sponsoring on the site so.

Also a share your pet forum so members can post pics of their cats ect.

Thanks! She was a stray. Had some medical problems like a half inch hole on her back bleeding. I treated it myself and the fur even came back.;)

I looked in the vbPetz, it seems very nice but I want it to only have cats so I don't know if it's possible. Also I didn't like the battle stuff. I want something peaceful not something that promotes war. :ermm:

This is the only cat site I visit (they run vBulletin ;) ). Maybe you can get some ideas from them.

If I were doing a cat site I'd have a lot of pages on cat behavior. Anyone that has kept a cat for a pet knows how they like to do their own thing.
