akanevsky 12-30-2005 05:00 PM

There's already a hack called vBRules -.-...

Marco van Herwaarden 12-30-2005 06:11 PM

Did you get the permission of the original coder to port this hack?

akanevsky 12-30-2005 07:59 PM

I highly doubt so, because HiDeo did so himself.. ;p

... so what? There's more than one arcade hack.

My point is: Variety is a good thing.

akanevsky 12-30-2005 09:08 PM

Really? Ok, gimme a second, I'll post about 10 more rules hacks whose only difference will be their title and color of the background.

AshokForums.com 12-30-2005 09:33 PM

So which has is better? vbRules (Psionic Vision) or Rules Hack v1.5 (Hasann)? Or is it the same?

akanevsky 12-30-2005 09:54 PM

Well, I can guarantee that my hack has no bugs.
However, this hack allows multiple rules. Choice is yours ;)

Hasann 12-30-2005 10:13 PM

this hack has also no bugs but both are same

AshokForums.com 12-30-2005 10:24 PM

I installed this coz of the Multiple rules thing.. No bugs so far..

@ Psionic Vision, your hacks are the best.. Some hacks i am currently use and love are Invites system, Hide hack.. You rock mate :)

Hasann 12-30-2005 10:27 PM

yeaa he is master coder :)

I'm having a really hard time seeing what you're getting at. A different title color and background is not the difference between the hacks. As you stated in this quote:

It offers multiple rules. I would see that as a feature that some people will find more useful. So it looks like I'm still right, no? Variety IS a good thing as long as there are different features.

Maybe I just don't see a point in your first post. There is no sense to jump in on anyone elses thread and state, "This already exists". Disagree with me if you will, but it's just plain rude.

Hasann 12-30-2005 11:05 PM

do not argue please

I am not jumping at anyone... I just said that HiDeo has released such hack. Where is the bad part in my words? ;)

No, thats not correct in this context. One arcade is a vbulletin arcade where the other is a port of an IBP board hack. Size of a hack also has some reflection in what can be made twice. When a hack requires mutiple files ect ect, thats different.

Dark_D 12-31-2005 02:26 AM

This hack works for me, thanks for the effort. I added a link in the navbar just under the welcome back and private message. Have a look:

I need help with this please as its not working correctly, there is no punctuations to it, I can not change any of the fonts colour or make them bold

For example of my rules should look like below: -

The site team consists of:

Administrators ? names shown in bold red in members lists
Moderators - names shown in bold green in members lists
Trials Team members - names shown in bold blue in members lists
Specialists - names shown in bold orange in members lists

In order to ensure the smooth running of the site for the benefit of all its members the site team reserve the right to:

Maintain a profanity filter
Move, remove, amend, or merge postings and threads
Close threads
Caution when threads are going ?Off Topic?
Advise when the subject matter of a thread is outside the purpose of this site.
Temporarily or permanently suspend accounts that are in breach of these Rules.
As a Member of this site you have the ability to use the ?Report Bad Post? , this will draw the Administrator?s attention to the reported post.

Please contact an Administrator if you have any queries or comments.

If you take a look here it looks nothing like, can someone help please

Chet

EDIT Looks like the color code does not work here

lanc3lot 01-02-2006 12:06 PM

When we add more rules, can we use html there? We have some special icons we use for specific groups and it will be a lot of help to "show" them there.

Hasann 01-03-2006 03:58 AM

For example of my rules should look like below:

The site team consists of:<br>
<br><br>
Administrators – names shown in bold <b><font color="red">red</font></b> in members lists
Moderators - names shown in bold <b><font color="green">green</font></b> in members lists
Trials Team members - names shown in bold <b><font color="blue">blue</font></b> in members lists
Specialists - names shown in bold <b><font color="orange">orange</font></b> in members lists

In order to ensure the smooth running of the site for the benefit of all its members the site team reserve the right to:

Maintain a profanity filter<br>
Move, remove, amend, or merge postings and threads<br>
Close threads<br>
Caution when threads are going “Off Topic”<br>
Advise when the subject matter of a thread is outside the purpose of this site.<br>
Temporarily or permanently suspend accounts that are in breach of these Rules.<br>
As a Member of this site you have the ability to use the “Report Bad Post” ,<br>
this will draw the Administrator’s attention to the reported post.<br>

A little bug:)

Can i fix the Who's Online?

I mean, when someone is in the rules, it says above: Reviews and then below has the /forums/rules.php which is right.
Can i change the "Reviews" title to Forum Rules or something similar?

Thnx in advance

bashy 05-06-2006 07:11 PM

Hi

Since moving to a new server, i cannot see the rules.php page on the forum
http://www.bashys-place.com/forums/rules.php

I have even reinstalled this, the only difference since using it before is now we have on 3.5.4

Any ideas please as this is a great hack,
It does sure all the rules in admincp where you can have access should you wish

Please see image as this is all i see and there is 8 rules, although it says 9 (this was only a test) it didnt show up the new rule either :(

bashy 05-10-2006 05:22 AM

Hi

I have now resolved this and i think i know why it happened

I must have had a previous version as in theis version the rules.php are only links
untill you click on them, it was not like this before, in rules.php you used to
get all the rules on one page.

Also they used to show up on the register_rules whilst registering, they dont
anymore, can you please advise on this 1?

TheBlackPoet 05-14-2006 05:26 PM

i loaded the original vb rules.. and it is good... but this one is better.. it gives me the choice to write the rules as i need to...quickly and efficiently

mrahul 06-02-2006 07:01 AM

got this error msg:

Invalid SQL:
CREATE TABLE rules (
ruleid int(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment,
title varchar(100) NOT NULL default '',
ruledata mediumtext NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (ruleid)
) TYPE=MyISAM;

MySQL Error : Table 'rules' already exists
Error Number : 1050

I had used this ruleshack before in 3.0.x now wat should I do ?

louis_chypher 07-13-2006 02:23 PM

I got vba CMPS to display a rule in a module. I use it to display a rule to visitors to the web site who are not logged in. If interested I could post how here or X.

louis_chypher 08-02-2006 01:09 PM

Hasann was wondering if you and uae who wrote the [rul=https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=97699]Rules and User Agreement Hack[/url] could get together and combine your modifications into one package?
