Well, he didn't qualify his request - he just wanted to know who had it installed. lol

While I may not personally think that kind of muscularilty is attractive on a women, I do respect the training they go through. ;)

I have every one of the pp products installed and working together- pp pro, classifieds, reviews and the vbgallery.

Great product.

-Jason,

Do you know now to add the most recent photo from the pp_gallery to the homepage/index of vb3.5.x?

Thanks.

anyone knows how to set it up, that online users are beeing displayed in the photo gallery?

right now, when I am clicking on "Who's online" and someone browsing my galleries, the who's-online shows soemthing like "unkown place for user XY" and shows the complete path to my PP-gallery....

I'd like to have something like "is browsing the photo gallery"...

PennylessZ28 12-27-2005 05:56 PM

I stopped using it as I started using vba gallery but I still own a copy

Go to photopost.com and in the Mods section there is a plugin just for this. I am using it and it works great.

Trackpads,

Would your Video Gallery implementation work for either PhotoPost or VBGallery?

The types of video you have there are

- Quicktime
- Flash
- AVI
- MPG
?

Pretty amazing site.

I know you can have it with vbgallery. Have you increase the php upload limit most likely though.

I have two licenses of Photopost Pro but I really like all teh Mods that exist for vBgallary...

Can someone with experience using both the PRO and Gallary versions compare the two especually in a vBulletin integrated form? It seems with the integrated form that I am not using much of the PhotoPost capability but then again, why would I want to use it when I can let vBulletin handle the permissions and the like for me?

I ask as I have one more site that I want to add a gallary to and it is a Ford Mustang site and I just don't know which of the packages I want to buy this time...

I actually have both installed on the site. If you are die hard VB then purchase Vbgallery because the admin is one and the same with VB. PP is a good professional photo product as well that can handle butloads of photos.

Both are worth it,

Sorry I missed your post, Thanks for the kudos!

Almost all galleries you find now do not let you have video streaming, PP and VBG are both great but require the user to download the video. I dont use them for my video because I want to protect my video.

Howver, I do let my users upload videos to them as they see fit and it is fine. I offer an anon ftp for those that have files larger than the 2mb. That is the simplest way, they can use IE or Firefox if they dont have an ftp program to just drop and drag it to the anon ftp.

Hate to bring up an old thread, but is the PhotoPost license transferrable if I buy and don't like it?

Zachery 04-26-2006 12:20 AM

Best to ask at photopost.com

Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Vbgallery no longer?

Thanks for the quick response. That's a deal breaker for me then, especially at the price. Too bad.

I normally would, however their support forums leave more to be desired.

kall 04-26-2006 06:50 AM

The support over there is actually quite good.. several vB-using people are now on the Staff, and their support of vBGallery is very acceptable.

Thank you for the link - I looked in the obvious areas such as where ordering choices are located by way of their website and the link through vbadvanced website. :)

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I've lurked over there for four months now and have read many a thread. It's almost if they frown upon those that can't understand their software or aren't experienced techies.

I do agree that they ultimately get the issue resolved, however, I feel as they aren't as customer oriented as they should be. You cannot question their technical aptitude though... Photopost is a solid piece of software from what I've seen of it.

MPDev 04-27-2006 11:35 AM

What we have found is that written communication between our technical staff and customers can be awkward when we don't know how much of a techincal understanding there is on the other side - talk above someone and you make them feel bad, talking below someone and they feel insulted. In the past we had alot of very technical users, but in the past couple years we've seen many more who are not nearly so technical and had to find ways to not make our customers feel like we can't talk to them.

We recently added an indicator that our users can set to identify where in the knowledge spectrum they are so that we can try and improve our communications with our customers; I am hopeful that this will help bridge the communication gap so that nobody feels inadequate or insulted.
