Hi !
here's my first public release for vbulletin 3.5, and maybe my first one for vbulletin at all ;)

So, what it does is adding a link to automaticly add positive reputation to the post you are reading, with "Quick reputation" for the comment.

It's a very little hack, for sure, but I thought that some people may use it :nervous:

edit 2 : uploaded second screenshot, showing what happens when you click the quick-reputation link. Well, that the default "you're vote has been casted". (But in french there, sorry ;) )

I am curious to see what happens when you click the little icon? Does it open the rep comment box?

Looks to be a hack ('quick' as well?) / extension of the UserCP Forum Info Stats.

'Participation' might be a display of the standard individual 'post per day' with the rest a custom derivative of compliled data averaged from the forum membership in general???

Looks to be something we can do but I would definately need help!!

I added a screenshot of what happens when you click the link, but well, it's just the default "reputation added" page :)


You'll have to modify your "postbitr" template, via admincp :
-> Styles & templates -> Find in templates -> find "postbit" in titles only.
-> Click personalize on postbit -> Add
Where you want the link to be shown.

For my exemple, it would be just before :

For the four bars in the postbit, I'll have to hack my co-admin, I'm not the one who installed this on our forum..
I'll keep you informed, but it's called "level hack" by him (we keep a track of everything we install..)

Thanks for the help Symen -I'll get this yet :o . I use / push 'reputation' a lot as a way for members & I to have a little fun (usually at each other expense)..

I keep track too - if your partner wants to share I'd be interested for sure.

No problem, he's not the coder as far as I know, I think he found it somewhere, probably on vbulletin-fr.org (the official french vbulletin forum, if I remember correctly.

Didn't have his answer so far, I'll post here as soon as I know ;)

HELP!! Rabbit caught in a 'catch22'!!!

Can someone with 'WinRar" unzip my version of WinRar.rar and rezip it back again with WinZip and upload it back so I can indeed unzip it(again, with WinZip) and install it soooo . . . . I can use my WinRar again????

Recently Upgraded to XP Pro, full install, WinZip won't do it(unzip a WinRar file) & and I need it back!!!

Got the eval copy of WinRar - actually, I had to 'search' it as it's 'Win-Rar.com'. Didn't find 'eval' download on last attempt!! Original guys gone????

So, about the 'Level Hack'(haven't done your posted hack instructions yet!!) - there's an .xml, some template mods and code mods too??? Attached readme.txt to save ya some trouble . . . .

Been busy since Symen's 1'st posted hack and developed my own mod(1'st one also) based on his achm, groundbreaking work. After finally figuring out to install it I noticed the quickreputation '+' only added and did not subtract so . . . . I fixed it!!

Very simple patch to orginal .xml but proud nonetheless.

Used 'P' & 'N' rather than '+' & '-' (appears clearer). 'Comment' still avail in 'scales' usual manner.

Learned A Bit while evaluating UEStudio'05 & ZendStudio5. Still a tossup 'cause each has its strenghts, Anyone here have a preference and why??

H?bergeur would be the name of your hosting company.. Mine is servermatrix.

Don't remember.. Your email may have to be listed under vbulletin.com's forum to verify your license status..

You'll have to ad new phrases from the admincp, that's the first thing listed in the txt file.
They even included instructions in english for phrases.

Then, there are template edits :

means :
"ajouter dessus:" means "add over"

"Remplacer par:" means "replace with"

"Voila ces termin?." (should be "voil? c'est termin?") means "it's done" :)


For your modification, that's not a bad idea, but I prefer to have people giving a reason for bad reputation adding.
Almost all of the time, positive reputation is for saying "hey, that post was interessing"
Bad reputation, you don't always know.. It could be "I don't like this guy", for example ;)

In regards to 'QuickReputation, I'm trying to install a img link (thumbs up & down) in leu of "+" and "-".

I gave it my best 'trial & error' shot but something is not quite 'right'. I did have sense enough to put icon13/14.gif in my images/reputation directory.

Please, Can Anybody Tell Me Where Am I Going Wrong???

What's the problem ? Images not showing up ?
the $stylevar[imgdir_button]/icon14.gif part should point to images/buttons/icon14.gif, but it depends of the style which is used (if you have more than one).
If you always want to display the image located in images/rputation folder, juste replace this
with this
Just look where your diplayed (or not..) images are coming from, with right-cliking on the "not-displayed" images.
You should see the path to the image in the properties box of your browser, and debug this easily.

I would love to see this create a drop down menu to add a comment in. Surley it can be done similar to the nav bar drop menus.

Xplorer, 'quick reputation' by definition excludes 'comments'. When you 'hover' over my thumbsup it says 'Not Too Shabby' & thumbsdown says 'You Stink'. (implied). The 'scales' still give a popbox say you can indeed say what you truely think.

Hehe - I've got a lady chatterbox on my board that wants my to correct the 'help thread' I have because it still says 'Y' and 'N' . . . .
