You ever get "Designers/Developers Block" ?
 

So I ripped off "Writers Block", but it's the same thing. It should be called a creative block. Or the lack of creatative thought.

Seems I get great insight into design at the most random of times, but when I really need to come up with something, I end up with a crappy medicore design I am unhappy with, or unable to come up with ideas.

Right now I'm having that. I'm trying to produce a night life/socail networking site, and I've got most of my coding out of the way, now its down to style and graphics, and well there's that void again.

:(

Happens to me every time. :(

Some of my best hacks happen during that time. And almost all of my worst ones. :(

I'm going through that right now. I can see it in my mind... but my fingers don't want to type out the code, much less even create some images.

How do you guys break out of this?

i'm actually - this evening - in the same situation...

on a GREAT hit, something that worth a two years fulltime salary... and damn, i'm not even able to THINK... i'm stuck checking this forum each 5 minutes to see if someone else posted a new flaming thread, because i have no idea AT ALL...

Lol, that sounds sooooo familiar. I think i have some good idea, make plans to do a lot of work on it today, and by the end of the day all i have done is check forums all the time, because i just can't get started.

I also got the Developers Block atm. I always find myself looking at the Dreamweaver icon and the Lineage II icon, and lately its always ended up with the Lineage II icon being double clicked.
Man if I don't finish the RPG soon, there's gonna be a whole bunch of people that'll walk all up and down over my anuses XD

Okay, I broke some of it... imagination managed to work. That, and with some much I have to do with one project alone (talking about a net worth of over $2,000 I'm sure), I got a little inspiration back. ;)

It's no fun when you're kind of burnt out... or when your somewhere, like a mall, and you can' get to a computer when an idea pops into your head.

i'm actually trying to stop playing at Wolfenstein ET, i'm online at least once a day to keep my XP saved, but each time i have a lack of imagination, i try to do something else... dishes, laundry, some cleaning in the house... but damn it's hard...

i think that us, guys, need some adrenaline to work on, when the imagination is out of town... so we kill.. lol animal instinct...

Yes! Whenever my mind stop working I close my notepad and click the Wolfenstein ET icon. Great game, but way to addictive!

I'm no great designer. But I'm a talented thief!

For shapes, I like to steal from magazines. There's always a bunch of new ones I've never seen (especially design magazines like "HOW") that have cool new layouts.

For colors, I love to steal from the grocery store. Have you ever looked at the colors on a can of Sunkist? Phenomenal! Most items at a retail outlet will be in packaging that is designed to portray something, find something that fits your needs and swipe it.
