Teams system?

Hey guys,I was hoping someone may be able to help me find something.I'll try to describe it as best as i can.Currently we are using VB 3.5.0 gold.We would like to set up some sort of Team based system on our forums in addition to ranking.

When a member joins they will have to choose a team to be on Team A or Team B.The reason for this is we plan to have team based projects on our forum.I am not sure if there is a mod out there which can do this or not.

Preferribly the member would have to make a choice at signup to be on whichever team (this hopefully can be edited via admins in case a member wishes to be switched) and preferribly the team name would be displayed in the users profiles as well as on there posts above there normal vB ranking.

Thanks to all who reply.

How bout using an additional Usergroup for that? Once he is a registered member he could simpyl apply for that Usergroup. In the AdminCP you can then select which of the Usergroup he currently belongs to should be displayed, and just add a different Markup or omething like that for the respective usergroups. That would be the most easiest way without using any hacks as all of the described functionality comes with vB.

because we want to have a seperate rank in addition to usergroup ranking :) basically we will have vB's ranks something like

New Agent
Agent
Adv. Agent
Elite Agent

users will be promoted through these stages on each team.but we dont want the team to be a usergroup simply an indicator to show which team each person is on.But it must be so that that normal users can not alter there team setting once it is choosen, only admins can.hope that all made sense :)

just a small bump for this...

Yeah I'm looking forward to this. My forums are all about the Metal Gear series and so I would like to use this hack for the organizations! :)

ya this hack would be good if it can be made.

also can you tell me how I can do that but having them choose if they are Male or Female? when they register that is. then they will have different color names to tell apart. if anyone can tell me thanks.

did i understand it correctly? - you want to choose within the registration, if the user is male / female, not more? *curious*

ok when they are registering, they choose if they are male or female, then if they choose male they are in the Male usergroup with a html markup (blue username) and for females they are in the female usergroup with a pink username, understand?
