Itworx4me 11-11-2005 10:01 PM

Is it possible to get the birthdays listed in a column instead of side by side?

Thanks,
Itworx4me

In the ADMINCP in the Automatic Birthday Thread Options is a link called messagebits

Click on it and change the phrase by pressing ENTER at the end of the line :D

I asked the same question via PM and this was Andreas answer so thank him... :D

Thanks worked like a charm

Code Monkey 11-12-2005 12:03 AM

Is there a setting to choose to do this for active members only? I mean, there are always those that register for whatever reasons and never post. I would hate to have b-day threads for peeps that nobody knows. :D

rb290 11-12-2005 12:47 AM

I dont use uCash

i have Reputation Power and Points
your also allowed to use the points for the Casino
so this wont work for the way my system is setup ?

by the way installed. thanks

GamerJunk.net 11-12-2005 01:56 AM

SpanishHarlem 11-12-2005 02:48 AM

same theres no reason to say Happy Bday to a unknown non poster....

Code Monkey 11-12-2005 04:00 AM

Well, it is unsupported. *shrugs*

redspider 11-12-2005 09:22 AM

today was the first post by this hack and this what I got .

Tittle :
Happy Birthday to Spider on 11-12-2005
thead :
www.my2wheelheaven.com members , Here are today's birthdays! Have a great birthday!

how I can make it to post the list of names on the thread not just on tittle?

TIA

moonclamp 11-12-2005 10:23 AM

Before I use this ... who is the thead started by or can this be specified in the admincp?

redspider 11-12-2005 10:33 AM

any user you pick by id on admincp.

You can specify the user who is creating the thread in the admincp

Snake 11-12-2005 11:25 AM

You are the man! :)

Same here...no users named in the post itself.

Thread prefix hack installed?

Run the cron manually and tell me the output

outlaw621 11-12-2005 04:33 PM

Works great. The members are happy. they missed this from 3.0.x. The only thing I see strange is I am the designated poster but my signature does not show in any post created by this hack. Of course it is still installed and will remain so. A missing signature is not a reason for me to remove a wonderful modification.

Gizmo5h1t3 11-12-2005 05:20 PM

this one is a belting idea, but im curious....whats to stop ppl abusing this by changing their birthdays every day, and so gaining massive amounts of ucash, if that option is enabled????

Xtrato 11-12-2005 10:01 PM

You Change the Registration setting to lock the birthday after its set :P

Thats in Vbulletin Options

HC. 11-13-2005 04:05 AM

I would like to see the title be today's birthdays
and have the subject be the members name instead of in the title

I would also like to know how to customize the b-day post that is done

Look in the ACP under the options for this hack. There are 3 links you can click to change the messages that are posted.

theArchitect 11-15-2005 09:53 AM

Is it possible to modify this hack to create one thread per user?

So if 3 people have a birthday today, then there would be three separate threads?

It is nice as it is, but it is a little impersonal to lump everyone into the one thread.

Doc Great 11-16-2005 08:59 AM

German translation-xml :)

Product XML removed and added as language XML to first post. Thank you :)

Yup, I'm having the same problem. When I run the cron manually from the admincp, it shows the entire post correctly. When I just let the cron run on its own, it doesn't put the greettext in the post itself.

EDIT: Saw there was an update, installing 1.01 now...

Bounce 11-17-2005 11:05 PM

How to i get it to post the thread at midnight (GMT) , its posting it at 6:05 pm :ermm:

aciurczak 11-17-2005 11:09 PM

You can go into the Scheduled Task Manager within the admincp. You will see the cron job for the Happy Birthday thread, and it is set at a certain hour. Hit edit, and change the hour to what you'd like. You can see if you did it right by seeing what the next scheduled time is for that cron job.

yes did that , set it at 00:05 yet the 2next" time is 18:05 :ermm:

thank you thou :)

aciurczak 11-17-2005 11:17 PM

It's a time zone thing. Change the hour to something else. See how it affects the next time the job is to be run. You should quickly see how many hours offset the setting is. Find the right hour to put in there, and you're good.

[high]* Bounce clicks install as forgot to earlier :)[/high]

Bluetiereign 11-19-2005 05:38 AM

Installed. It now posts in the the Body. Option for only active members. Nice.

divided_by_fear 11-19-2005 02:48 PM

ok a question on this i installed this before i wentto bed woke up and there was 50 threads to the same person... how can i stop this i have it set up to run on the 23 hour but it was going and going lol.... like i said there was over 50 threads of the happy birthday message...

SCRIPT3R 11-19-2005 08:02 PM

i just re-up'd the most recent download and the Existing Install/Uninstall Code is 1.0.0 in the Product Manager... has the initial file not been upgraded to reflect 1.0.1 changes yet or does the install/uninstall code part not matter?

Andreas 11-19-2005 08:09 PM

The install code hasn't changed, so it is still 1.0.0.

divided_by_fear 11-19-2005 08:13 PM

any word on what would cause this to happen?

You only set the hour, not the minute, so it would run every minute for the entire hour.

(isn't hour 23 a bit late ? their birthday is almost over at 11pm in the evening !).

divided_by_fear 11-19-2005 09:15 PM

lol well i wanted to make sure i was up to see if it did it again lol so what would be best to set it at like 1 this way its early in the morning?
