Area for [bbcode] submissions?
 

Hey all. A while back, the answer to this would have been 'go to vbtemplates' but this is no longer the case.

I have a bunch of [custom bb codes] that I want to share with the community, but there's nowhere appropriate to place them currently.

They're neither hacks or template mods, there's the occasional CSS addition and often custom graphics but not always.

Would a subforum be too much to ask for? A pinned thread seems a good idea too, but the new codes and related discussions and support would get mixed up.

I'm dead keen on [tags] since they use quite simple HTML/java etc for better thread posting for all. I would like to see other people's rare tags in one place too to better exchange them.

Any support, especially amoung staff? :)

A sticky in the "How-To" forum would be sufficient IMO.. :)

some codes can be quite complex with browser-specific issues and occasional hacking (e.g. the 'me' and 'you' codes)

That's why I feel more than one prominent thread is needed.

I also think that in our current setup a seperate forum might be wanted. When we go to 3.5 however and implement the hack database, we hope to have a more result structured setup, so grouping by the result you want to achieve, and not by how it is implemented (ie. a bb-code).

I see what you're getting at. But could you make a subforum anyhow? Because I do have lots of pure BBCodes which won't fall under any template/graphic/hack catergories, and they'll only need a field to define them with a hack database, why not make their existance in a bbcode forum a pointer for adding the fields when you get around to it?

Just put them under Miscelaneous Modifications for now.
