What type of paid member subscriptions do you use?

I am working on starting a premium subscription service for my site and I am pretty much sold on using paypal. But what do you guys use that are experienced in this? Also, what do you think of the built in VB system for paid memberships, does it work well?

Thanks for any info you can give,

-Jason

Jason,

I've recommended Amember a few times over the years... can't beat it for features and the support is second to none!

(you'll want the vbulletin plugin as well)...

http://www.amember.com/

Cheers,

~Regs.

Only 140.00 huh? What a rip off!

Just use the subscription built in and do a search under subscription and you will find plenty of hacks to do what you would like.

I use it with Paypal and have no issues.

Vbulletin itself costs more, is that a rip off?

Trackpads,

If you have any questions about amember, ask away and I'll do my best.

Cheers,

Vbulletin offers quite a bit more then amember ....... I mean why even do a premium membership if you are coming out even after buying that crapolla.

Does the vbulletin paid subscription feature produce income reports, demographic reports, etc for an administrator?

Does it send out multiple welcome emails, instructions, etc when a user signs up automatically? Does it offer an offline payment type so that people can subscribe and pay by cheque?

There are a multitude of features that make amember a very good script.

There are many more.......

If it makes you feel better you could donate to some of the above coders and save some of your money.

You are comparing apples and oranges. None of the hacks that you have produced links to produce the output I described in my previous post.

In any event, I'm sure Trackpads will value any feedback on ways to implement paid subscriptions on his site.

Amember is quality software and I am speaking from experience. Time is money as is peace of mind. It is not for everyone but for those serious about turning a profit from their community in a professional manner, they would be doing themselves a disservice by not at least looking at the alternatives.

Cheers,
