Forum broken, move to clean, lose no posts possible?

Hello i have purchased a forum the other day and it was on vb3.0.0 i upgraded it to vb3.0.7 and alot of the hacks dont work and theres a few other errors.

I was wondering if this is possible;

Take all the users, posts and forum cats and move them to a clean vb3.0.7 install ?

Just upload a clean vb 3.0.7 and link it to the existing database.

But the exsisting database was ran on vb3.0.0

Then upload the 3.0.7 install folder and run upgrade.php to make the (minor) changes from 3.0.0 to 3.0.7, just the same as you would for any other version upgrade (it will take you through all the internediate versions).

That seems to fix it, but dont forget about all hacks are still in the sql file :( thats why i wanted to move the users/posts/forums cats to a clean install.

Download ImpEx on vBulletin.com in the members area.
You can import your users and forums etc...

Cant i do a database back from the vbulletin admincp and only select a few options from "Database tables to include in backup" ?

Marco van Herwaarden 04-20-2005 07:18 PM

No that will not work since your user records are link to many other tables.
