Who's Installed

I know the hack author can see inside someones postbit if they have installed the mod when they post, but can we have an option to do a search to find all who have installed so it like gives us a list showing who installed the hack?

Dean C 08-12-2004 04:30 PM

This has been asked before and the answer was no. The reason? Because if there is a modification with security issues then everyone can find out who has it and exploit it. I'm not saying we have that kind of people here but there are those kind of people around.

I think that's what you're asking right :)?

MindTrix 08-12-2004 04:31 PM

kinda but i more or less meant for the hack author to only be able to see the list. Know what i mean?

EvilLS1 08-12-2004 04:36 PM

Yeah I like the idea of the hack author being able to see the list, but I also agree that not everyone should be able to see it.

Yes good idea for the author

KW802 08-12-2004 05:06 PM

Author yes, public no. :D

Ah I see, well you can see the people in your post who have installed it right? Why do you need to know everyone else? I'm not saying you shouldn't, just curious.

MindTrix 08-12-2004 06:18 PM

Sometimes its nice to see who is using your hack, for instance the RBS i released i would like to go and see it in action on some rap forums. But not everyone who installs it, also posts in teh thread, meaning there is some installs, yet are a mystery who they be :)

Osterling 08-12-2004 06:36 PM

I don't want anyone to be able to see what hacks I installed for what Dean said in his first post...

if you are going to consider doin this, make it an option in the usercp to let other people see what hacks they installed or if you dont want anyone to install the hack

Logikos 08-12-2004 07:18 PM

Exasko, the hack author can allready see who installed there hacks, Liam just was wondering if there could be an easier way then scrolling down the post and looking at the postbit of who installed.
