This is my first hack, I am not the biggest hacker I cannot create hacks from scratch like most vB hackers. I will try my best to provide support ON THIS THREAD ONLY. This isn't a very complicated hack I am sure the other members of this forum can provide you with better support then I can anyways.

Description: This will place a Glow drop down menu with a color list on your post vB Code. It creates a new BBCode called Glow wich creates a glowing effect of your choice of color to your text (the strength is 3).

This hack was specifically modified from SmEdD's GlowHack, but for only 1 type of glow that is eaiser you just put [glow=color] for the tag not [glowlight=red] [glowstrong=color] etc. I don't believe people need 3 types of glow.

good hack but I prefer using manual glow tags ;)

You can use manual glow tags, the bar is optional. Just type [glow=color]GLOW HERE[/glow]

So this just adds a bar then? What if we already have the glow filter in our custom vB codes? Do we have to remove it then replace it with yours?

No I don't believe you do, if you want just the bar then only do the vbcode_buttons template step, thats it. Just make sure in your bbcode everything is only named Glow not like Glowstrong etc.

@StrykerContact Also thos alot of people prefer multiple strengths and this may not get many installs I know what it is like to release your first hack cause this was mine to, just a bit more complex ;). But give yourself a few months and you should be making way more complex stuff :)

Also thanks for putting me in the credits or I would of asked for the hack to be removed, just some future advice when useing alot of someones code ask them before releaseing. I don't mind about prior notice or permissions as long as I get credit but you will run into a few who do get a bit +++++y about it.

I am not really new I have been registered since Feb. I would have given you some notice but I don't feel this hack is origional in the first place I have seen tons of variations, plus it is an old hack, if I had to ask your permission I would have to ask like 100 others too, the reason I gave you specific credit is because I got the idea from your hack and your code, and I did get the outline of the readme from yours too. I doubt I will ever be making complex stuff since the only reason I could make that is because part of it was already made and all I needed to do was edit it. I can catch on quickly but I can't make things from scratch, so I might have a future in variating hacks. I am fluent in html I love designing websites in notepad, that I am good at.

Btw SmEdD I do feel that your glow hack wasn't detailed enough about the mysql instructions, many people including myself don't know much about phpmyadmin, I had to ask around for help, now I understand it. Also parts of your hack wasn't working for me your replacement code is off I think, it might just be me though, you can contact me on AIM if you would like to talk just pm me for my screen name.

BTW is there any way I can add an extra drop down selection for strength of glow?
