Profile display options depending on usergroup?
 

I'm considering purchasing vBulletin for use by my organization, and I am hoping that something like this exists without my having to dig into the code itself.

I would like to be able to restrict viewing members / profile information based on a per - usergroup basis. I see that v2 has some of this functionality, but it is an all or none situation and I don't want to make all members of .

I'm hoping to build a board for my organization. I would like members of my organization to be able to view certain custom fields when they look at another member's profile. This would be things like name / address / phone, etc.

However, users who are not members of my organization would still be able to view information about a user, just on a limited basis.

Is this possible through a hack with 2? Is it planned for 3? Does a hack exist for this?

it is possible with a hack, and wouldn't be very hard to do :)

i don't know if it's included into vb3

First...there is no hack for this.
Second...As Xenon stated it is a very easy hack to do.
Third...As an admin you may want to learn how to dig into the code as it would make your life easier...

He hasn't bought vB yet, or at least isn't licensed here, so he can't see the code.

Correct, I don't own it yet.

That being said, since it sounds like an "easy" hack, any hints / tips where I should start looking once I do purchase. I don't know if I would call myself a expert PHP programmer, but I could probably manage to wade through it eventually.
